Are tennis matches rigged?

After seeing what has occured at the Australian Open and Wimbledon and to a lesser extent the French Open and other tournaments, I can't help but wondering if tennis matches are rigged. Not possible you say. Well look at it is this way, IMG owns the rights to a number of tournaments including the great Wimbledon. When it wanted a star, i.e. Maria Sharapova to be born, she made her breakthrough at Wimbledon beating two IMG represented players (no names mentioned here) in the semi-final and final.. When everyone said she was a fluke, she proceeded to beat one of the said IMG players in the final of the year end championship after said IMG represented player had the upper hand , then suddenly went south after a bathroom break. IMG is also behind the Blake circus, how much of that story is true..just ask Vince Spadea.

With IMG controlling the sport including the development, isn't it easy for a lowly ranked player to be told not to upset the apple cart particularly in major events. It's unfathomable how many of these players suddenly crumble when they meet an top ranked IMG player. Somehoew that I think Henin is scared off of IMG events notice how she crumbled to Sharapova at the US Open and to Bartoli before what t would have been a showdown and perhap win against the IMG represented winner of Wimbledon. Federer and Nadal dominate the men's tour-represented by IMG. Any talk of Nadal's drug use is quahed as soon as it comes up yet based on what I have heard there appears to be some truth to it.

Adcourt: I've already read some of your previous threads... Hmmm, I don't tell you that all what you've written is a total bullshit although it looks you have obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I was just going to say something similar to this. Is Roddick gay, Is Blake on the juice, Did Gilbert give Nadal and Murray drugs... very interesting choice of topics to say the least.

In all seriousness Adcourt, your findings regarding match rigging and drugs in tennis are quite compelling. Overwhelming, even. You must at once contact someone at WADA and the ATP. Immediately. If you are worried about anonymity, just say your name is Alison. There is already an Alice alias, so you cannot use that.

Please report back once you have delved deeper into the subject. You will be doing the world of tennis a great service with your efforts and you may go down in the Hall of Fame should your evidence lead to any convictions.

I missed that little prize package the first time around. You are using Spadea as a source of valid information? In what parallel universe, that exists outside the guy's mind, does his word carry any weight?

Thank you for the much needed comic relief. Stop yourself here, though. Without anything concrete, this type of song and dance routine becomes a powder keg in a nanosecond.

laugh as you may. Too many fans are caught with the trivial issues surrounding the sport--who is sexy, who is gay, etc. I, because of my profession , have access to a number of research facilities... In fact, Nadal stayed at Gilbert's house for weeks. For what reason? Then Nadal later transforms from a little pip squeak to a hulk, with strength and speed being a major elements of his game. Ah, well color me cynical.

Going by what your logic, Murray should be Mr Muscles by December. We will see.:)

If you have access to all these research facilities as you say, what are you doing here then? Killing time?

You are dead to right- and you're basically doing the same thing that you claim to be above discussing: who is gay, who is sexy, etc.

What you are trying to accomplish here is not clear yet, but don't go throwing stones when you are standing inside a glass house of your own making.

Adcourt = Fortis on wtaworld.

His/her posts on wtaworld are even better.

"No. IMG controls the coaches, the players, the networks, the tournaments, the announcers. It is IMG's tennis world ..They manipulate it and we watch. It is the main agency that represent the coaches(former players), the players (who come out of the academy in Florida), the announcers-e.g. Mary Joe Fernandez's husband is Davenport's agent from IMG. Can I make this any clearer."

:haha: :help:

Wow, man, you're one big bout of PARANOIA.

Have been smoking too much Dutch pot lately or so?

Please, please stop making allegations where you don't have any proof. Especially on Raf being doped... it's :bs: and you know it.

Morphing from a "pip squeak" to a "hulk" is quite a transformation. Seriously speaking however, the allegation that there may have been a number of "pre-arranged" matches taking place right before our very own eyes may be true. Had tennis sport turned into a bigger gambling den?

American TV critics have in recent years been lamenting the death of comedy, particularly in the form of the traditional sitcom. What they don't realize is that people have gravitated towards other sources of humourous entertainment, particularly of the internet variety, with this thread being a prime example. Seriously, the creators and writers of the most successful shows of all time couldn't come up with anything nearly as hilarious as the claims made in the original post, not to mention some of the pithy replies
