Well, I don't mind seperate threads for every event, but I also don't mind what you're bringing Lau. Whatever way, what matters is that we can cheer for Fab!!

Re: Open 13 Marseille, Feb 12-18

Hey what do you people think of having a cheering thread (maybe we could change the title with every tournament) for all tournaments?
I´m just asking...

BTW, Fabrice is in Dubai´s Acceptance List

EDIT: Maybe individual threads for MS and Slams? I don´t know..., I´m just thinking out loud

Re: Open 13 Marseille, Feb 12-18

Well, I don't have complete coverage here. I saw his match on the livestream-again!! And it's better for the interviews, after the match, because no commentator commentate over them!! I guess that's the price to pay for having live matches.....

Thanks again for the report Choupi! It's very cool to hear the info from the interviews, as I have no coverage here at all!

Re: Open 13 Marseille, Feb 12-18

Fab just lost to Youzhny 7-6 2-6 3-6. When interviewed, he said that it's been tough physically today, especially after a great and long 1st set. He paid the price of his efforts in the 3rd set. He doesn't know if he's gonna be there next year....but he appreciated the support of the crowd.
Misha said he'd been lucky today to win the match because Fab's beaten him several times in the past and he also added that he'd like to play like Fab when he's the same age!!

Re: Open 13 Marseille, Feb 12-18

From L'Équipe today (in an article about how the guys who were not selected for the Davis Cup are doing in Marseille, hence all the hints at the DC):

He comments on his win in Bergamo: he lost only 17 games in 5 matches, "a record" he says. That's the 3rd time in 6 days his opponent has to retire.
He means he's not far from playing the best tennis of his life. While everybody was focussing on the Davis Cup tie in Clermont, he was working with Emmanuel Planque in Bergamo and sounds very happy to have won the tournament. He's asked about the DC tie, of course, and says he didn't even watch the matches since he didn't have the TV in his room.

Re: Open 13 Marseille, Feb 12-18

Fab won. Verdasco just retired. Fab was leading 6-3 3-2 (40/0). Foot injury.

The livestream wasn't 100% quality but I can say that the Magician was on the court. When interviewed after the match, he said he had arrived in Marseille at midnight yesterday after driving all the way, that he was expecting a hard match today, given that at his age he recovers less quickly. He's happy of course to be through today, though sad because Fernando couldn't fight till the end. He expects a very tough match against Youzhny, which he qualifies of "dangerous opponent". He's beaten him in the past, he hopes he can have him adapt to his pace, though it's gonna be very tough. He will have a good day resting tomorrow, only playing doubles in the evening with Nenad.
