Re: Which book do you currently read?

Adorno and Horkheimer ^_^

It has been a while, but I'm slowly (re)reading the more interesting books from my student days. "Dialectic of Enlightenment" is more meaningful to me now than it was to my 20 year old self.

Re: Which book do you currently read?

The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse.

I think Hesse deliberately wrote the novel in this way as some ironic criticism of historical biographers resorting to clichés and hero-worship to fill in the blanks while reconstructing a historical figure's life.
Anyway, it lacks subtlety and gets quite tedious after the first 100 odd pages or so. Also fails to even mention the rules of this Game.

Jenny Downham: You against me
A modern-day Romeo-Juliet story from Britain, psychologically intriguing but immensely rewarding in terms of human nature. When you expect the worse the best happens, somehow unexplainable, just factoring in requitted love and positive intentions. The ending is not tragic at all, even it is not finished.

Re: Which book do you currently read?

I finished up the Alex Cross series and am starting on another series by Preston & Child, based around an eccentric FBI agent. I am reading Relic right now (first book in the series), but I've read 4 books in the middle of the series because my boss had them on CD. Since there are a few holes in the series for me, I wanted to read them all.

Re: Which book do you currently read?

Almost done with Trial by James Patterson (that one kept me up most of one night, I couldn't get the images out of my head, disturbingly true piece of American history) and listening to Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith in the car (disturbing in a different way).

Just finished Cross by James Patterson, now onto Double Cross. I'm quickly getting through this series.
