 I'm loving the thread name though.

And even though I am still mad at Gaston, cause he is not coming here to defend his title. :( I wish him all the luck ( of course ) not only for this tournament, but for all the clay court season.

Time to show you're still alive, no Gaston?

Yes, it w be nice for Gaston to have some sort of resurrection in Valencia and throughout the clay season. ;)

Gaston won 7-6 (6) 7-6 (3)

He had breaks and lost them and of course went the long way around, but in the 1st set he was down a break and got through.

As I said, it's all match practice and now he plays the tricky and geeky German Mayer who beat him in Estoril once.

He has a day off and good luck for Wednesday.

Good win Gastón! :yeah: He needs to win this kind of matches, and I'm confident he is going to raise his level in the clay court season, so it's good to start with a victory! :bounce:

I was scared about this match (when am I not scared? ;) ) because I know how long Gastón takes to get into the swing of a tournament. So, now that I know the result, I think two tiebreakers is very good practice! :D
Vamos Gastón against Mayer!

Congrats Gaston, keep winning! :)
