Stalker? Nahhhhh.

Lindsayfan, I prefer to call myself a tennis connoisseur rather than stalker, lol. Irish knows the other term we use ("stalkerslut") but since I am blisssfully married with children, that term is just soooooo far from reality (laughing again) that connoisseur works much better.

But rest assured, there are quite a few of us out there What tourneys do you attend???

And its nice to see that Nono has a soft side. I was beginning to think him somewhat of a troll based on his treatment of ballkids as of late...

Re: some pics from arnaud's site

"It all started on Sunday morning, 26th October, when I took the metro and I found myself face to face with a huge building- ‘le palais omnisport de Paris Bercy!’ I had planned to meet avec Sylvain at 12:30 but I was there at midday. My heart was beating really fast and I couldn’t stop thinking about what was about to happen in a few hours time.

Then, Sylvain arrived and said to me, ‘you aren’t dreaming, this is really going to happen.” Luckily, Sylvain made me relax a bit coz I was feeling really tense. We left to find where we were supposed to be and I was surprised to see that it was a VIP area. It gave me access to all the restricted areas. It was already making me feel like I was dreaming!

Walking through the corridors of the POPB, the inside is really like a labyrinth, but its good. Sunday is for the qualifying matches on courts 1 and 2, with training done on Centre. So we went with Sylvain onto court 1 to watch the match between Mahut and Hrbaty. It was a great match.

Then the moment came. Sylvain’s phone rang. It was Arnaud who was calling to tell us that he could give me his racquet (?). My heart was really racing, it was actually about to happen- I was about to meet the person I have been longing to meet for ages. We waited until the end of the match, which Mahut won (7/6,5/7,6/1). Once it had finished, we left to go meet Arnaud.

When we arrived, Arnaud wasn’t there yet so we waited in the corridor which led to the players lounge. Suddenly, I was turned around and there was Arnaud with his racquet and a huge smile on his face! I wasn’t feeling too great, my heart was racing and I was speechless!!! After a few quick introductions of ourselves, we left for centre court.

Once we got there, he signed his racquet and put it in front of me to take a photo. He signed a copy of Passing Potes for me and a few photos were taken. He gave me a huge ball that he had signed without me even asking and we talked about his thigh and the tournament. The mood was really relaxed. The meeting lasted about half an hour, I was really happy because I didn’t think the he would stay for that long to talk to me like that. I was left all alone to talk to him!! Arnaud is truly really nice, so much like how I had imagined…nice…close to fans…really lively…(I’ll stop there but I could go on forever!)

Then when I told him that I would be there Monday and that I hadn’t bought a ticket yet, he went to get me one ( I didn’t ask him to!). The ticket was a VIP one again and on top of that, it was given to me by arnaud himself! Then I gave him the ‘Golden book’ that Maria had sent me. Arnaud took it and opened it there and then! He was really impressed by all the messages, the photos and by the quality of the book. He seemed really touched by all the fans and al that they had done. He looked through it for about 10 minutes smiling at all the photos of himself (lol) and told me a few anecdotes. He then told me he would love to thank everyone for doing that and he really loved the book…

So after about an hour with Arnaud, a last kiss on the check and then it was goodbye. I had just experienced something that I was waiting for for two weeks and it had just finished. It was better than I would have ever expected. My dream had come true. That was truly the best day of my life. I was also able to talk to Seb and get him to autograph the book. Paul Henri Mathieu was also there during the training at the time.

Monday was also fantastic. I went to matches between: Stepanek-Carraz, Costa-Zabaleta, Arazi-Mathieu, Gasquet-Gaudio, Mirnyi-Santoro, Gonzales-Blake…it was great even though two frenchies lost!! The two best matches were the ones between Paulo and Richie. I was really stressed out during those matches and when they lost I was really disappointed. I was sitting behind Richie’s family and next to Paulo’s family!!! I left at 10:30pm.
