Re: The "I Love Brian Vahaly" Thread

Yeah, but it's odd in a way. I thought I saw somewhere that he officially retired at the end of last year because he knew his shoulder would never be the same. That article is dated March 30, 2008, so that's not where I saw it. I'm a bit perplexed to be honest...

Re: The "I Love Brian Vahaly" Thread

Updated in June....

Well, after a long few months of rehab it looks like my shoulder is not getting any better. I have a feeling my doctor wants me to go under the knife again and have another surgery. Personally, I just don't think that I'm up to it. Waiting another 9 months with only the hopes I can get back onto the court and play pain free, while losing all the match play and time practicing on the court, just doesn't feel worth it. In the end, its probably not something I'm ready to do. Plus, I'm enjoying my time with my friends and family and think about starting the next chapter in my life. I'm still not sure what I'd like to do with the foundation or still being involved with tennis in some capacity. I love the sport and am confident in my abilities....but we will see. Its been 25 years of non-stop tennis so a break sort of feels nice right now.

In the meantime, I just finished up my first lakefront project in the real estate world and I'm loving it. If you are bored, check it out at http://www.mtnlakes.com/Homes/614L/614L.htm . I worked on the design and everything so it feels awesome to be part of the building process. I'm going to leave it as a rental property and then if it does not pan out, then I'll put it on the market. So go and check it out! I'll drop you an update over the coming months with my final decisions on what's next for me...

Brian is having surgery in September on the shoulder. Let's all keep him in our thoughts.

Re: The "I Love Brian Vahaly" Thread

According to his site (and what he wrote on it) he played some money event last week and his shoulder felt ok. so hopefully that's good news for the long-term.... I hope he's not rushing it, he seems to have done that a few times this year already

Re: The "I Love Brian Vahaly" Thread

Looks like Brian is going to try to play the Atlanta Challenger on Monday. As of right now, he's still on the entry list. Good luck, hope the shoulder holds up for him.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOO I hate to even hear the words "torn rotator cuff" That is what happened to Tommy and his shoulder has never really been the same since I hope if Brian has surgery he will not try to come back too quickly. I think that is what happened with Tommy and he ended up having to have yet another surgery

Well apparently Brian is in need of some attention so send him some love via his website or you know, where ever. Wouldn't want him to think his fans have forgotten him...

I just saw the score. Sorry for Brian who seems to be a good guy. Paul is a good player on hardcourts though. Watched him in Vegas. Hope Brian takes care.

Not a good idea at all! Capdeville won the 1st Set 6-0 and is leading the 2nd Set 3-1
