From Gasquet's chat with fans;

Comentario de GuestGuest:
Who is the most easy going player in the tour? Or... if you did a party, who's the one you gotta invite?

Richard Gasquet:
Safin for sure

I agree... the writer tries to Marat... (it didn't come out quite right and he may not like it hehe as he wants to be remembered as a 'decent' and 'hardworking player ... -- hmmm -- yes, on top of the charm, look, smiles, quotes, ohh -- i can go on and on...)

Hey - it's just the same old sterotype Marat has had since pretty much day one , and which, lets face it - he never did much to dispel, so, please don't take it that seriously - it's a comedy take on Marat's more 'extreme' characteristics - I have to say I found it kind of funny....I was thinking the next time I am dealing with someone having a hissy fit over some trivial matter (something unfortunately for me I have to do more often that I think i should,) I might just shut them up by saying "Oh - for heaven's sake - STOP being such a MARAAAT!!!"

When you can win a tennis grand slam without training, clubbing the night before, throwing a temper on court and smashing every single racket, then you will be granted the status of "marat".

In tennis, when a player hits an excellent backhand down the line of the tennis court. One may shout, MAARRAAATT!! After hitting this stroke, similar to the shout of Russian tennis player Marat Safin.
