You don't have to support someone just because they're from the same country as you He congratulated Oliver anyway... but obviously he knows Jurabek more if he's in his player box

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Er, why are Nick and Christos (in his box) supporting Jurabek in the juniors?

Bernie hears the music too on RLA.

#Musicgate continues. The music Nick Kyrgios complained about last night is back again. Bernie Tomic: "Nick was right."

I don't want him to stop. I want him of course to drop unnecessary comments, stop swearing, stop tanking. But what he did to the end of set 2 brought out a game that was top 5 level. Easily.

I think what he needs is something to fire him up before the match starts. The rude and stupid things he does are an attempt to find his 'zone'. Let's see him play an entire match, an entire tournament even, just playing his top game within it needing to do so by misbehaving.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Yes deeply disappointing, he really did seem to be in a better place mentally starting the season, but alas reverting to what seems to be his norm quickly enough.

In fairness shorts-gate wasn't really all that obvious if you were in Hisense - all you could see and hear was the stroppiness at the linesmen. But he wasn't playing as well as expected so obvious something was upsetting him even if not what.

And probably doesn't help to have the example of Lleyton in his box - who was fined for swearing in his final match, plus had his own go at the umpire!

He obviously does care, and the fact that he hates losing so much could be a big positive for him, but he really needs a coach and psychologist to help, and no sign that he will take the necessary steps.

Let's hope Kokk recovers quickly and realises his potential, perhaps that will stimulate Nick to get his house in order...

I expect it now, but it just makes me cringe It's not a good look.. but do you, I guess.

He seems to want everyone to hate him? Why tweet that? No one is going to rubbish him. He lost to a TOP 10 and very experienced Berdych. This was no match he was supposed to win for sure.

From his post match interview it doesn't look like he's interested in playing post AO. "Don't remind me"

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

his problem is that, while he claims he doesnt care what people think he obviously does and to much.

i got to admit its getting tiring seeing him go off for every little thing and showing absolutely zero respect to officials, chair umpires and at times his opponent. lets be honest he can be a brat

i like him but i dont know how much more i can take.

It's boring, and it's not conducive to him focusing and improving....
It's not even just the Australian media, it's everyone. The ATP, ITF, Australian and global media. He's a global figure now - and his name is now synonymous with rebel behavior. It's a long road. Things stick. Tomic now is only just coming out of it.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Djokovic gave an interview to the Financial Times recently. Here's what he said about Nick.

Quote:
“Before the last two years, it was worrying for the tennis world,” he concedes. “The young players were showing potential, but they weren’t coming up. People love Roger, as they do Rafa, but their day will come, as will mine. But in the last two years I think we have seen a lot of future stars. [Borna] Coric, [Nick] Kyrgios . . . ” Ah, wait a minute, I interrupt. He was a little bit of a naughty one, wasn’t he?
“Well, he is, but, actually, deep inside, I think he is a very good guy. He has a little bit of an identity crisis, I think. He is still trying to establish himself. I spoke to him in New York. I said, ‘Listen, I know everyone criticised you, and I was one of them,’ and I was happy to tell him that face-to-face. But I wanted to add that I suffered similar things, maybe not to that extent, and it is a very valuable experience. I said, ‘If you ever want to talk to me, I am here and I am willing to help you.’ I practise with him, and I talk to him, and he is a good guy, and really, really talented.”
