Re: Ask the board Thread

How does the commitment phase for week 45 work this time?

Since, I won't know, if I made the CC final till the end of week 44, I might end up committing for the CC final without being able to play.
Can I commit for two tournaments for this week or will I be able to enter another tournament on short notice without being LE, if I shouldn't make it to the final?
Or is the commitment for CC final completely at my own risk?

I can help you anytime alejan , it's just a matter of being available every day at the same time, for diffs and OOP/scores/next round draw, about 8-12 hours apart , for 9 consecutive days, and 2 weekends in a row.

I found it was quite time consuming in the beginning, but you get quicker, and make less mistakes as you learn the spreadsheet better, if you use excel regularly, you'll have no trouble, if you were like me and didn't there will be a learning curve no doubt, but its a good one.

For me most of the time it takes is setting up the event, once everything has started, about an hour ,twice a day in the early rounds, and less later in the week.

Do you Know how to make an OOP? you could start out assisting with OOPs, downdload the Spreadsheet if you haven't already and the entry list/draw maker , and I can give you some pointers on how it works, I did some mock tournaments, before my first try this spring , and the first week with the spreadsheet went horrible, where I had to re do the same work over and over, until I figured out not to automatically save my work!

You're in my Kaohsiung event this week, if you have the spreadsheet and EL maker downloaded I could walk you thru the whole process , certainly more managers will be needed next season!

Adey's suggestion has support from the board.

Although I obviously know how the inputting side of it goes as I once did a few years worth of inputting over here myself but haven't needed to get involved on the TF side - I'd also be very saddened to see it all lost as well as its a superb tool for any manager to use.

Between us we'd all try to take this on.

Evita thanks. We haven't unfortunately. I think Adey's suggestion is a good one.

The board needs to take care of the situation and move the players still in Zhangjiagang somewhere else. Thank you.
We're 2 players short of the minimum required to play the tournament, so I would extend the deadline and wait one more day before cancelling it. I've asked all players registered in Seville if they're interested in switching tournaments.

A little bit of board activity would be nice here (and also in the TT US Open thread where there isn't a manager either). Randy did what he could during those days
It has to be said the lack of reactivity from this board is...interesting. Let's let them handle the week 36 situations with Zhangjiagang and Seville.
