I guess everybody's still disappointed from the big loss at Wimbly, and with the end of our beloved QF streak, and that's why no one's opened this thread yet. So I just kind of snuck in with my hopelessly crabby brand of wit in the title!
Anyways, as they say - the show must go on!
So here's wishing Roger a new streak of Hamburgers and Frankfurters to keep him healthy for the second half of the season!
A new beginning: 2nd rd is with either Lorenzi or Brands.
Re: Hamburgers and Frankfurters for Roger: THE HAMBURG THREAD: Def Hajek 6-4 6-3
I think I'm going to have to decide officially only to check ending scores in Roger's matches from now on - to stop any further wear and tear on my heart muscle
Re: Hamburgers and Frankfurters for Roger: THE HAMBURG THREAD: Def Hajek 6-4 6-3
Daaaaamn I almost had a heart attack, this Roger punished me for every joke I involved him for..
But guys, I cannot thank you enough for keeping fingers crossed, now my dream comes true to wittness his GOATness live at least once in my life!!

Thanks everybody! I will have internet on my phone, I may post also during the match.
Maybe Verdasco woulda been a better opponent to watch, but I've already seen him in Vienna once. So instead of JJ another tall young guy for Roger, I hope he beats him in 2
I also hoped to see Haas but I have to be satisfied with the King Especially after this horror match!

Don't want top use it as an excuse but from the GM:
Anyone with eyes who can't realize Roger back got tight as a drum at the end of the first needs to get them checked. He put on the vest, he didn't sit through change-of-ends twice (he never does that, he always sits) and after that long point and the roar at the end he was basically limping to the back of the court with a grimace on his face. Lower-back cramped up on him, as clear as daylight.

Well, having just read all the comments from you all on here (10 pages - knew it had to be a bad match), I was certainly reading back problems into it. Just hoping he'll be fit to play okay tomorrow. And also wondering whether the cinema last night was a good idea for the back.
Aaaagh. You know what happened, don't you? After having completely sat out all his matches this tournament (and done great things to my blood pressure as a result) and he won them all, this lunchtime I just went on the ATP site to see what time he was likely to be playing, and found they were just about to start the first-set TB (and of course I had to watch the livescores for that, didn't I?). Feel as though I jinxed him. Shall I sit out Gstaad and see if it makes any difference?
I didn't actually mean "sit out" sit out, just that he did a lot better when I wasn't watching the whole thing on livescores because I had too much work to do . Seems he does better when I don't obsessively watch every point.
Re: Hamburgers and Frankfurters for Roger: THE HAMBURG THREAD: Def Hajek 6-4 6-3
notice on GM some other concerns/observations about his back - which was why I was wondering if donning the sweater was truly only for the weather. I think it may have been for his back
Re: Hamburgers and Frankfurters for Roger: THE HAMBURG THREAD: Def Hajek 6-4 6-3
Thx for the info. Hope Roger can beat him tomorrow
