I can't say enough about Vasek's performance so far against Italy. After going five sets on Friday against a top 20 player, he plays an extended fifth set in the doubles, serving impeccably in that fifth set. It's been a great display of fitness and mental toughness, reminiscent of his performance against Israel in 2011.

Gets a bit of revenge on De Voest, in SA at that. Into the semis, against unseeded but in form Mate Pavic next. With the forty points picked up so far, will climb to about World No. 120 (he's now No. 131). A win over Pavic would give him 65 points and put him at No. 114 or so.

Winning the tournament would put him at World No. 103, btw.

Yay Vashy, even though it wasn't a pure win since the Pole retired on him, it's still nice that he beat de Voest on his turf, after Ric beat him on his soil recently and to take the title.:)

Match with Zeballos coming up, he's the underdog, but not as big of one as I thought, so he might have a chance, though I still doubt it.
