Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

Makes you wonder how did Stebe reach top100 in the first place or even defeated some decent top50 guys.
stebe used to play good tennis a couple of years ago or even one, but right now he plays like shit and has no confidence. but no doubts he is so talented

Well, playing weak asian challengers during that breakthrough year helped a lot. Even than in Europe outside of Germany he didn't make a big impact. Talent is there, but needs a attitude change and serious work ethic.

Gabashvili again double break up, doubt he'll let it slip his hands this time.

This Daniel guy seems to be quite talented. A shame that he ran out of gas in the third set.

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

I think Alex just secured a RG WC maid draw, if there was any doubt. Good for him and one of the few US players I like :)

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

What a fucking dogfight from RRH.
It was a breakfest the whole second set, then RRH somehow held at *5-6 saving a mp,in the TB he didn't lose a point on serve, then he was down 2-0* 15-40 and won 6 games in a row after saving the bp's.
Kuznetsov seems to be in form atm,no way RRH wins playing like today,Kuznetsov should take that one.

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

Does anybody know why Massu retired from his match? Looked at the draw sheet and it was blank.

On a side note, wondering if retirement from the game is coming soon. The few times I've had a live feed to watch his match at Challengers...the spirit just seems drained out of him.

Pulled groin. He said after the match in a post match interview he isn't close to being done and wants to keep playing these futures/challengers to work his ranking back up. Sometimes thats easier said than done.

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

commentator just mentioned that he pronounces arguello's name "exactly as it is pronounced in Argentina" ;)
I said earlier on the forum that I could tell he was trying - we say more of a "sh" sound on the 'll' and 'y' as opposed to other Spanish countries say as if there is no ll (like Argueio).

But he has to much American accent, sounds like he says Aruillo - so he is not succeedding!

Re: Week 17 : Savannah (Entry List)

Wayne Odesnik is the most disgusting person in tennis. The guy takes a point penalty when he is standing there ready to receive because he just refused to play, then he obviously tanks the last few games of the match.

Honestly, I would not be the slightest bit upset if he never played a tennis match again in his life.

Odesnik has always been a sore loser. Again didn't shake the umpire hand. But I guess he'll grind out that Roland Garros WC somehow during the next week.
