Re: Fed stats - with most weeks in top-2, 3, 5 and 10

I hope to see Federer top 8 seeded in both Indian Wells & Miami.

With Tsonga defeating Goffin in the Rotterdam final today, and Thiem having a lot of points to defend next week, the chances of Federer claiming the nr 8 spot in time looks promising, or at least possible.

I think Thiem has to win in Rio to stay top 8 right? Goffin, Dimitrov & Berdych are not playing next week, so the possible contenders for the number 8 spot is Tsonga and Monfils who are playing in Marseille. I'm not sure though what results they need to pass Federer.

Fed this week ties Agassi for most total weeks in the top-10 and now only Connors is ahead.

Connors was amazing. Don't forget that in his era it was uncommon to play past 30, so he was truly one of a kind. I've always had great respect for him, even if I didn't approve of his court antics.

Fed needs 71 weeks in the top 10 to pass Connors. His clock starts again, although he hasn't yet gotten close enough to start the 52 week chase. Still building points and times for the challenge.

Lovely. This has taken a long time!

Fed will own consecutive from 1-8 and from 17 down.

Missing 9 through 16th because of the injury.

Consecutive weeks in the top-25 is assured. He's missing 28 weeks and guaranteed to get them.

Consecutive weeks in the top-17...let me check. Connors has got 832, Fed 818. Assured of going past. 2000 points might conceivably not be enough but Wimbledon points will last long enough.

Top-20. Connors has 860, Fed 825. Basically assured of going past. Very hard to see 2000 points falling out of the top-20.

17? I'm not sure what you're asking here. Could you explain? I'm slow sometimes

Yes, Fed back to the top-10. Will pass Agassi in a couple of weeks tome for most total weeks there and trail only Connors.

Fed has also now secured the record for most consecutive weeks in the top-25, the 2000 points will be enough to stay in there for another 52 weeks.

True. And he's getting closer to passing Connors.
