Re: Ymer Brothers

What's his structure now? I think he had a private coach for a while and he's now travelling with his father I think.
He really struggles with consistency throughout a match. He's fighting well. He's often dictating the game but he hits a lot of unforced errors.

As for Mikael, he started the year strongly winning Lille Future. But his results in Challengers have been a bit disappointing lately. I think he should continue on the Future circuit for a while.
It's maybe too early for him to play Challengers. But I guess, they both want to play the same tournaments.

Re: Ymer Brothers

I think Elias should consider going back to the Good to Great tennis academy he was doing good under team.

Re: Ymer Brothers

Elias was playing well yesterday when he was down. But as soon as he got a lead, he committed bad mistakes.
With the amount of points to defend in the coming weeks, I'm worried he will have to get back to Futures level.

Elias lost in the 2nd round of qualifications at the French Open
No idea what's next for him but he should consider going back on Futures to build up some confidence maybe.
With his current ranking, he won't be able to get into strong challengers and qualification draw of ATP 250.
He's really struggling to hold serve. Did he have any injury?

Re: Ymer Brothers

What a difference a year can make, he's out of top 200 now
I really wonder what happened while he was on the edge of top 100.
Seems like he's fighting well on the court but not winning the important points.

Where next after Estoril for Eli?

Re: Ymer Brothers

Eli qualified in Estoril but lost in the first round of main draw to Berlocq.
I watched his match and his game was not as bad as I expected. He can hopefully win a few matches on clay and improve his ranking.
Also, there is a nice video of Eli in Ethiopia on the ATP website.

Yeah I suppose they will play doubles after their Stockholm win.

Re: Ymer Brothers

I think Elias should never left The good to great tennis academy, maybe he should consider an coaching change. I still hoping he will find some form eventually and enter the top 100 sometime this yr.

Happy too see Mikael back for the Miami event as well, hoping he get an nice draw and be able pull off an win. It be nice too see if he and Elias can play doubles there as well.

Mikael played his first tournament since Stockholm in France F4. Took a wildcard to the qualifier, had some rough wins and then took off in the maindraw. Won the tournament rather easily in the end against ~300 ranked opponents. I see no reason why he wouldn't go straight to challengers, maybe even ATP qualies(bit hard with his current ranking).
I don't really understand what happened to Elias. He was nearing Top 100 and all of a sudden, he went into that slump.

Get to know Next Gen ATP star Elias Ymer, who has two other tennis-playing brothers. He speaks Swedish, Ethiopian and English and is a Mike Tyson fan.
