Re: Biathlon thread

Yeah, great race from Lesser who had the disadvantage of starting last and so lost a lot of time in the beginning.

Re: Biathlon thread

I was so happy to be there yesterday, perks of living in Oslo. So happy to see our own Mäkäräinen win the world up. The end of the mens mass start was a little boring I have to admit..

Re: Biathlon thread

And the season is sadly over after what was a pretty dull race in the men, mass starts are by far the least entertaining/exciting format.

Congrats Makarainen, what a close finish or should i say finnish to the world cup.

Re: Biathlon thread

Last race of the season starting soon. Finland's Kaisa Mäkäräinen needs five points more than Norway's Tora Berger for women's World Cup title.

Fourcade deserve the Olympic gold, hope he can take at least one in Sochi.

Not exactly true. Fourcade did miss one shot, and would have been second but for the Swede Fredrik Lindström falling one kilometer ahead of the finish line. Lindström actually skied faster than Fourcade on the last leg both before and after the fall, but lost too much time on it to win.

But it's nice to see a Portuguese fan

Man, I used to be so into biathlon as a kid. Stopped watching after Sven Fischer retired, he was so bad-ass riding with no gloves on.

Nadie is another fan of biathlon but I haven't seen her for a while here
(Martin) Fourcade won both the men's as Martin said.

Soukalova and Flatland won the women's. The former is leading the World Cup after two events.

Re: Biathlon

We already have a biathlon thread, perhaps we should merge?

Was too bad with the cancellations today. Looked unneccessary also, the women had already completed three shootings and had only one left, and the results were fairly normal, with star athletes in the lead.
