They shouldn't do it, but I understand it
If they're going to retire anyway, they shouldn't retire on match point itself. Middelkloop was either extremely hurt, or wanted to troll his opponent.

You know, I feel you can't blame sub-top 150 players for this. Well, you can. But I'm not that harsh on them. They have probably bet on themselves and seriously need money and even more seriously can't afford to lose money and bet somewhere that the match will be voided in a retirement.
They shouldn't do it, but I understand it

I believe that could be the only proper reason to retire at this point of the match.

In fact the score was *1-5 *0:40 in 3rd, not 2-5 as i wrote in thread title !
