Murray's brothers was not so easy to beat and I'm not ok to hear people saying that they are as good and reliable that's Bryan's.

For me no doubt Richard is a better player and a better double players. that's why I'm quite sad they not prepared it I means Jo and Richard.

Maybe it's a choice that Richard and others should do stop playing that davis cup if they can't do what they want to win it ?
A good doubles team is better than the sum of its parts.

Richard may be a better doubles player but if he was not fit to play that day, then he wouldn't have been a good choice. Even if he was fit, if he had not practiced doubles at all, then he wouldn't have been a good choice.

I think Clement made up his mind that Richard would be a 3rd day option when Richard went deep and came off Wimbledon with a little injury. I think it was a smart move because he had two options that were (are still) ranked higher and also playing well.

I am still of the opinion that bringing an established, successful doubles team (specially considering that one of the doubles player is a decent singles player) is better than trying to pair up two singles players, but that is not Clement's philosophy, obviously. It might be because he has several singles players he feels obligated to put on the team...only Clement knows.

And I pretty sure you never see Herbert Mahut played together to say they have a chance against Murray's

Rchard compete in three ties and one in 2015 since last Olympics Games so he's ok for Rio. Now if he wants he can skip it for 2016
Uh, Mahut/Herbert got to the finals of the Australian Open, R16 of Roland Garros, F of s-Hertogenbosch, won Queens, and got to R16 of Wimbledon this year.

Pourquoi n'avez-vous pas aligné Richard Gasquet? A.C.

So the choice for the first day was between Gilles and Richard, at no time he has thought that they could both play and Jo be on the bench.

L'équipe de France a beaucoup de très bons joueurs. N'est-ce pas un problème d'avoir trop de choix? A.C.

Jo in first, jo, jo, Jo...all his thinking is centered on jo

No need to be so harsh to Jo. It could be all on Arnaud for having picked him for both single ties. And it's saying Tsong is not a good double player is a little bit too soon. With Richard he beat the Czech duo Berdych/Stephanek who had a 15-1 DC record as a pair.

Re: Davis Cup

Agree with the above regarding Tsonga in doubles.

Murray carrying GBR to a Davis Cup final and possible win like he did for Laura in the Mixed at London

Unless there is an injury , I really don't understand why the Wimbledon semifinalist would be passed over on a grass court event .

as the French team lost , I imagine many will be asking Clement the same questions
richard has a little injury at the foot since the match against kyrgios but he can play, it was planned he would play the 5th match

Well, we now richard is always cautious, always underestimating himself whereas Jo always used to say he's very strong and he will beat everybody, maybe this is what happened in mind Arnaud's mind

that's sure Gilles and Richard would have been the better choice against murray and Mahut-herbert for the double which means Tsonga out... a scandal for JO's ego. tsonga want to be the chief, when he plays double he thwart his teammates instead of support them, except with llodra who is as egocentric as him.

Re: Davis Cup

So apparently Yannick Noah offered to be the French DC captain in 2015, but only if the 5 players wanted him. But according to Arnaud Di Pasquale, the French players have unanimously decided that Clement should stay on and the FFT has agreed that.

I meant to post this last week - amazing scenes in the warm-up of Richard's match with Fed.

Hello Puschkin

It is a bit fishy but we have to let this go. Maybe he loves his girlfriend more than his country? I saw an interview where he says his girlfriend is Swiss.

Re: Davis Cup

Just to be sure, that it does not get lost in another thread: Tsonga who could not "hold a raquet" during the DC final, played a doubles in the IPTL exhibition in Manila one week after.
