Re: Davis Cup

If we are away, Felix has shown that he can play on clay and Milos can also play on clay, depending on who the opponents are. Milos practices on clay since he lives in Monte Carlo and sometimes practice on clay. Denis has shown that he can construct points and put it away as USO was one of the slowest hard court that played like a clay and he had no problem beating quality opponents. The only wild card is the doubles as Daniel's final year on clay and Vasek cannot even play on that surface. We will be even more better team even on away tie with clay thrown upon us along the way. I predict that FAA will make the Davis Cup team even for the first round of WG in case if Milos decides not to play due to deep run in AO and might need to make up ton of points that he has lost due to injures and cannot afford to be injured again with IW and Miami coming up that he missed last year to maintain his top 10 ranking even if he is out of top 10.

Absolutely, Shapovalov should be really proud of himself!

Nestor on serve makes me really nervous now unfortunately, as much as I find it cool that he still competes.

Away clay = Félix!

Re: Davis Cup

@156mphserve , so Canada won't even be ranked in the top 16 anymore?

Hard to say what team they will field for a 1st round tie, they are a nation who has won recently, so they are not as motivated to put out good teams maybe, at least away.

You probably can, both are in their 30's and have won DC, I don't see them coming back, Roger esp. needs to maintain himself more, so DC won't help with that.

1. France(Home)
2. Belgium(Home)
3. Great Britain(Away)
4. Croatia(Random)
5. Switzerland(Random)
6. Australia(Random)
7. Serbia(Home)
8. Italy(Away)

the rest just in case they jump up there, or for future rounds

9. USA(Random)
10. Spain(Away)
11. Germany(Random)
12. Japan(Away)
14. Kazakhstan(Random)
Brazil(Home)
15. Netherlands(Home)
16. Hungary(Random)

There's a huge gap between Italy and Germany so I can't imagine their 1 win this week jumps them up there, and the gap between idle Italy and USA/Spain is large enough I doubt dropping points changes it.

The 3 potential home ties won't be easy. Serbia would be if Djokovic didn't show up. There's no real gimmes in the top 8 there, a lot of it depends on who shows up. On paper Italy is the weakest, but away on clay isn't ideal.
