Re: Ask the board Thread

I did see that but took it as le's that for example in 32 player draw, they could be seeded if top 8 in ranking, but didn't see where other players below 8 seed would be put in entry list according to there ranking after the 8 seed. Thought they would remain as le's at bottom of entry list .

I understand what you are saying , I just don't see it written that way ,atleast yet, haha.

And thanks for the quick replies!

3.1.2.4 states LEs can be seeded.

3.1.2.5 gives an exception for players ranked top-30, they can never be seeded in challengers.

LEs are only placed at the bottom of the EL for commitment purposes. In other words, anyone committing in time will get a spot in the MD before they do.

If they get directly into the MD anyway they will be seeded according to ranking.

Re: Ask the board Thread

I've been reading over the rules and questions, and I'm quite confused over the Entry lists in the first few challengers I've played/committed
to in weeks 5 thru 8.

Mainly the placement of LE'S in each draw by each manager, I haven't been able to make sense of the placements. I'm not sure if it's more clarified in their spreadsheets that I don't have.

The rules look simple when I read them that all LE'S should be placed at the bottom of the Entry list below the NR and in ranking order of LE'S , but I don't see that being done in any challenger except maybe bergamo, where I was also confused where LE'S were put into quallies ,which I think was right, the confusing part was some LE'S could have been seeded in main draw, and the wording says LE'S can be seeded, not sure if that means can or should be?

I know it's not a real big deal, where most challengers have not been filling up and have qualifying draws, but I think it would be nice if they were done properly ,or maybe they have been and I'm missing something.

Best place to find OOPs are the ATP site. They always have them.

This is bound to happen every once in a while, what is the best/most used resource to get the oop on my own?

I don't like it either. But when I've the choice: I don't send or I send on my own without OOP I would always choose option two.

supertom I disagree. I usually don t like when picks are sent without OOP.
No need of OOP in that case.

I was online yesterday but I cannot post the OOP there every night.

Honestly less than 8 hours, independently of the time schedule, it s not possible..

I agree here. TT OOP should be up for a few more hours in as many situations as possible but if not anybody is free to send picks to the manager on his/her own.

noted Vamos!! i think what should be done for atleast the deadlines was maybe someone on the board (i don't mind doing it) should just make sure all EL's are posted by a certain day and if not run them for it.

Re: Ask the board Thread

I'm going to be completely honest because I feel as though I need to vent.

I've been really unhappy with the management of this tournament, for a number of reasons:
- There was no pre-deadline entry list made by the manager or any outline of a tournament schedule
- Not one of the posts on the front page has been updated for the entire tournament (and this, plus my previous point, is regularly the case when I play a tournament managed by this particular manager)
- OOPs/results have been late or even not forthcoming more than once; 7 hours is not enough time for people across the world to be expected to send on time for a tournament

As a manager on tennisforum I understand that real life sometimes gets in the way and I appreciate the time that all managers dedicate to their tournaments, but I don't think it is unreasonable for a manager to update posts on the first page with draws, tournament info, results & OOPs etc, or to perhaps set an earlier deadline if they won't be around at the deadline or to ask somebody else to post an OOP for them if they will not be able to do it within a time frame that would allow people close to 12 hours to send. And here we are yet again, with 3/6 matches on today's OOP having been completed and a fourth well in progress, and there is still no sign of the manager anywhere nor at the very least any mention that diffs would be late.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that whilst I appreciate people managing, if you are unable or unwilling to be able to put enough time into a tournament to manage it effectively then please maybe think twice before signing up to manage said tournament.

I am sorry but it is impossible to send between 3AM and 10AM...

Re: Ask the board Thread

in santo domingo there were 16 sommited players on friday and the manager made the draw. since then there have been 4 more players, shouldn´t there be a 32 players draw with bye´s?
