Yes you're right, consistency is his biggest issue. As for returns he's standing too passively on the second serves so even if he gets them in he's not gaining nearly the advantages he could. But he's figured out how to hold his serve now, dropped it once in the semi and held it today. His second serve is twice as good compared to last year.

Clay is happy times for him, I'm hoping he can reach an ATP QF somewhere.

Re: Ymer Brothers

Elias won the Barletta CH with a 7-5 6-4 win over Pavlasek in the final He will now be back to around the 120 mark and there is month and a bit before points fall from Caltanissetta so I hope Elias gets some good results before then to keep the positive ranking.

I think he can use this to regain some confidence and push for the top 100 and beyond this year. He looked very happy to win today.

Next is De Bakker in Barcelona, win would be good, loss is expected as he is the underdog and he will be tired (Barcelona has a tight schedule because of the 6 rounds instead of one in a week, I'm not sure if R1 or R2 is two days but hope its R1 so Elias can play Tuesday). I would really love to see him play Nishikori.

Yes, hip injury. Figure we'll see him be back sometime next month.

Imo he's stalled because he's decided to work on his weaknesses a lot, combined with some health issues. Has also played all the seasons, i.e. grass, american hardcourt, asia, australia, indoors. His best surface is clearly clay, but he's chosen to give every surface and continent a shot. He's also gone for the biggest tournaments he has a shot to play in, instead of smaller challengers. This is not the smoothest way to improve your ranking, but it improves you as a player.

Let's see if he opts to go for a little more clay in the coming year, or really tries to get good on every surface.

The team has now been named. Looks like Elias might still be too injured to play but Sweden should still beat Denmark 3-2 at the very worse.

Markus Eriksson
Mikael Ymer
Fred Simonsson

Seeing that they gave him the WC, I think that confirms he will get into the Davis Cup team verses Denmark as well.

Re: Ymer Brothers

Chance for Elias to make his 'grand slam' now and qualify into every GS this season. Plays Montanes in the final.

I just wish he could play on this level more often during the regular tournaments
