Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Nice that he gets this after all he's been through since Wimbledon 2013.

Would like him to get one of the following before he hangs the racquets up: an AO, an RG, or at least one week as the world #1. That would top it all off.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

He's reached the final of the last 5 events he's played, and won 3 titles, a slam, a masters and a 500

And he's become the Queens GOAT too, awesome time to be a Murray fan.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

So he'll break 10,000 points now, I think.... that's some total. He may never have been #1, but I don't think that's a stick anyone can beat him with, considering this era. Maybe there will be a window of opportunity at some point.

Even though I had my doubts at times, I was generally upbeat through 2014 - always thought he'd be back, always thought he had another one in him. Funnily enough I think the IW/MI double this year was the most pessimistic I've ever been. And since that point his results have been fantastic. Really have enjoyed his emergence as a clay force. That win over Wawrinka was a belter.

Funny how things work out!

After the surgery, I wasn't sure how long I'd have to wait to see him lift another big one.. Thought it would be AO, but in many ways this is perfect.

Andy is clearly the best grass player in the world at the moment. So chuffed to post here after a GS win rather than another runner up result. And Wimbly the big one at that.

Priorities should remain the same... Chase Djokovic and keep trying to crash his party at the top. Only like 900 points behind on the race, so we're looking good.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

I always thought he'd win another one, it just needed the right circumstances. I mean he was awful in 2014 and ever since Djokovic stepped it up in 2015 thing's have looked bleak but no tennis player can keep winning forever and sooner or later Djokovic was gonna slip up to an underdog so Murray just had to be ready. Very proud how Murray kept his head this fortnight to pounce.

Always thought the Lendl factor was overrated - and there's no doubt his victory here had nothing to do with him - but it's indisputable, with Lendl back and number 3 secured, there's real momentum in Murray's career again. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he triumphed in Flushing Meadows as well.

I was coming to terms with him never winning another slam after RG. Thought it was finally time to accept it.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

I'm not sure how I'll feel if Murray wins relatively comfortably today. Beating lower ranked players without any drama in a slam final is just not what being an Andy Murray fan is all about .

On the other hand the ruins if he were to lose would be tough to recover from.... .

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

it never is...

and there I was at 5-0 in the second dreaming of a bagel and no sets dropped en route to the final

Murray leads the Golden bagel Awards so every breadstick does help (acts as a tiebreaker in the event of a draw)

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat

Yeah, same.

This is where Lendl can pay dividends, keeping Andy in a good headspace for the 2nd week.
