While being 1 year older and having a body that is probably 10 years older and has looked burned out since a very long time.

I barely dare to count out Nadal in anyway, I know he will crash once more at any given time (may be before RG) and he will be injured for 3-6 months and then he will be ready to die to come back to the sport.

He will look slower everytime, his tennis will carry more and more pain, but he will just keep fighting.

He might just still be around in top 10 at 33-34, which is nothing short of a miracle given how he plays tennis. I also am quite sure he will take a 15th slam (decima) and I am pretty sure we need to aknowledge a player with 15 slams to be exceptional at something (more than moonballing).

excellent post.

You need to stop thinking everything that's good right now is easily the best ever in tennis, nevermind in all sports. That statement in itself shows little knowledge of the history of the sport.
That is more due to the skill he has and the weak competition, but anyway. While I did think he would burn out earlier, he is in the process of doing so. Also, injury stricken - look to Haas or Del Potro for injury stricken.

Anyways feel free to worship Nadal if you want, but don't pretend to sit on the intrinsic truth.

Nadal is another kind of beast altogether, you need to accept his willpower being 2nd to none in tennis history, just like claydeath has come to respect Federer for his genius.

The fact that he has stretched out that painful and injury stricken career of his to the age of 31 and entering another slam as a favorite; that is nothing short of amazing.

The problem is eventhough everyone love Nadal most hate his playing style and almost deemed as negative play, its really not that much fun to watch Nadal outside when he plays Federer.

Against Federer I loved Nadal's matches but otherwise I certainly would love to avoid it unless a player like Del Potro demolish him

But as a human being he is pretty nice and deserves respect and love.

Nadal is bound to end up like Hewitt anyway. A washed up mug with injury problems getting eliminated in GS early rounds and losing a ton of five setters in the process.

He's finished.

We were all predicting back in the days that he would have a short career like Hewitt and be gone past his mid 20s.

He is the greatest warrior tennis has ever seen, and no one really even comes close to Nadal in my eyes. As a matter of fact, he might be the greatest fighter in sports history period.

Yeah makes sense to me I mean he did make this thread back in 2012 so it does give me the impression that he appreciated Federer

these are my players forever and ever but we have to give credit where credit is due.

1. vilas
2. muster
3. bruguera
4. clay warrior (Rafa)

Roger is doing some incredible things. we have be smart enough to recognize that.

I knew over 10 years ago that Roger had the game to play until he was nearly 45.
