Re: The Mighty MM

Nice win, pleasantly surprised that he qualified and won a round tbh

Re: The Mighty MM

Qualifier Mighty Marinko competently deals with the No.5 seed, 26 year-old Moldovian Radu Albot (ATP124), winning their first round encounter in the Dallas Challenger in three sets 64 46 64.
Well done MMM.
He now faces up against another 26 year old, Argentinian Marco Trungelliti (ATP172). Should be a little easier this match but with Marinko, anything could happen.
Go Marinks.

Ritz Qualifies for Dallas.

Re: The Mighty MM

Sooo... I just did a calculation.. If Marinko fails to accumulate any points at all in February ( Like his currently doing by losing in challenger quallies ), by the end of Feb he will be ranked...

Outside the top 500

Interesting times ahead,

Re: The Mighty MM

If he's trained hard and is fit, surely the wins come eventually.

Matt Ebden hit some very low low's then it all finally clicked again.

Re: The Mighty MM

Not looking good,

Didnt make a dent at the AO WC Playoff
Lost in Q2 at Happy Valley
Lost in Q2 at AO
Lost in Q2 at Maui challenger

His ranking will plum it to about 350-400's shortly as he has 90 points coming off in the next month, and due to his age i dont think he would want to go back to the futures circuit..

Id say retirement in 6 months time.

Re: The Mighty MM

It's gonna be a long road back.. I hope he gives it another go but it will be a long slog. He maximised his potential the first time around, which shows how hard he works...

Re: The Mighty MM

Thats a shocking result considering he just did an interview with TA where he said he feels great and wants to return to his career high top 40 ranking.
