As for wasting a day, if we did play Sunday it would be less points for each day of progression, to in the end land at the same 1000. We don't have an 8-day scale atm. We could of course make one. It would be more challenging this way. It's not an option changing the last minute, though, so Rome maintains a Monday start. We can have the discussion in the off season and make a poll. Or if it is big demand for it, perhaps already before RG.
I understand your point, I'd prefer playing RG from Sunday but it's better to bring this up in the off season so people aren't caught by surprise. Besides, after this it'd be pretty much NID I'd lose on the first Sunday if we started there

As far as I understand the rule is to make sure people don't miss out due to a tournament starting Sunday, but really what are the odds that people on a tennis forum don't know on which day one of the 4 Slams starts? At least for RG a Sunday start would make perfect sense imo.

Madrid Masters begins on May 3rd.
For Day1, there 9 matches are scheduled, out of which 2 are First Round of main draw.

While we players are to pick , does "match" here mean 2 Main draw matches, or all 9 matches (including 7 Qualification matches).

In another way to put it, for Day1 Pick, are we supposed to pick
1 out of 2
or 1 out of 9 ?

Thanks for advice!

Firstly, Suicide Tennis Madrid starts Monday. Even when the regular tournament starts Sunday, ST starts Monday. Only exception to Monday start are Indian Wells and Miami.

Second, qualification matches are never allowed. MD only.

We always start on Monday so you don't have to pick for tomorrow . (I'm not sure if in RG we start on Sunday )

#1 While understanding that in one tournament "we pick one player only once", what about backup? For example, on Day1, Nadal is bu, from D2 on, can we put repeatedly Nadal as bu for D2 or even D2, D3, and so?

#2 Can we cancel a post and replace with second thought before time limit? Actually on presumption that it's acceptable, as I wanted #269 withdrawn, I posted #282 with previous post quoted. But I am not quite sure, if it's OK, I'd like to know the right way.

Thanks.

1) There is no limit for BUs that don't come into play. If we assume all matches are indeed played, no WOs, you can in theory have the same player as backup in every round but the final. But if you need him because your main pick's match turns into a WO then he can't be used anymore. Then, however, you can use your main pick again. Point is, only one player is used each day, the one actually playing.

2) Changes are allowed until the first point in the first match is played. Quoting your previous pick and writing in a correction is the best way to do it
