There is a certain symmetry at work here which engenders that beautiful kaleidoscopic effect. Almost like being on an endless walk.

I promise I'm not taking any substances but my head is spinning with that forest!

Peeking Kirkjufell
Located on the coast of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, Kirkjufell, which means “church mountain,” is said to be the most photographed mountain in the country.

Night Move. Constellations in the southern Milky Way compete with an earthly display of light near Tanzania’s Lake Natron.

Stars Over Shivling
At 21,467 feet, India’s Mount Shivling rises toward a clear night sky. Here in the Garhwal Himalaya lies the Gangotri glacier—and the headwaters of the Ganges River.

Magic Eye
Hong Kong’s breathtaking skyline takes on a dizzying effect in the darkness.

Rock of Ages
After a heavy thunderstorm, a small pond grants a mirror reflection of a hiker at the Wave, the most famous landform in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in Arizona and Utah."

Areas in England

I think people take for granted the beauty of there own country, that's definitely the case over here anyway.

Time to bump this thread
My photos from my favourite island
This island has a mediocre image, according to some, it's a place where you can only get drunk in rundown tourist ghettos.
Can you guess the name of the island?

Though I did come up with a new beautiful place which I don't think has been posted here already:

Ilha de Queimada Grande, a 110-acre Island off the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil

Also known as "Snake Island", as it's inhabited by thousands of venemous Golden Lancehead Vipers. Experts say they're 5 times more venemous than the regular Lancehead Vipers on the mainland, but nobody bitten by one of these snakes has lived long enough afterwards to make it back to the mainland.

Only the Brazilian Navy and Scientists with a permit are allowed to visit the island. The Brazilian Navy do maintenance work on the automated Lighthouse near the top of the place once a year or so. Legend has it the former lighthouse keeper was chased out of the place by snakes (along with his family), and they were bitten and killed by snakes as they ran through the forest. That's why it's automated now.

Nobody knows exactly how many snakes live on the island, some say it's 1 per sq. metre (which would make it around 400,000), others say some parts contain up to 5 snakes per sq. metre. More conservative estimates put the figure around 1,500 - 4000. The snakes eat insects, cockroaches, small lizards and their favourite delicacy are the migrating birds who use the place as a stop-over.
