mistake on dodig's part imo. doubles is what saved his career while he was struggling. good doubles results gave him confidence for singles.

...Mirnyi played with Tecau all year except for one tournament...all the others basically had partners for at least a quarter of the year until they deemed their partnerships not working...Bryans just dominated until another established team beat them...plain and simple...I'm not even a fan but can admit this. The other vets just weren't willing to stick it out when they were getting beat by up and coming teams.

Explained clinically already about 2005 and 1999 all major final appearance of BOB/Mike and Leander/Bhupathi..No comparison with 2013 case...All of us who loves the game of doubles need good solid pair like Sexy-Paes to challenge everyday to Bob and Mike..

My point was Bryans dominated 2013 only because all the teams changes and experimented a lot...
Wrong. There was another year where they got to all 4 Slam finals.

Bang on...absolutely and thats the point I have raised 2 days ago that if these doubles greats had permanent partners in 2013 Twins domination might not be as big as this year.

My point was Bryans dominated 2013 only because all the teams changes and experimented a lot...Bryans could not dominate in 2009/2010/2011 or 2012 like this year.I felt because Mirnyi/Nestor,Zimonjic-Nestor/Paes-Stepanek/Paes-Bhupathi had given them tough times..Fortunately for Bryans only because of solid friendship of Steps-Leander is still on and others broken up..But I believe Paes- Steps are going to give them some tough times ahead in upcoming tournaments this year...

But I have to say Bryans are amazing doubles players and with all the stable partnership they could still win lots of matches and grand slams but may be domination would be reduced..That is my point.

Hopefully 2014 all these doubles greats will have stable partners

And while his contemporaries who have been on tour for more than 15 years like Max Mirnyi say they take their careers on a month-by-month basis these days, Paes has no plans to do the same. He said he is currently training toward the 2016 Olympics and sees no reason to stop his career if he can still continue to reach Grand Slam finals.
