That's a good point. I was thinking it would be awkward to win the Wimbledon final on a net cord if it was something crazy like 14-12 in the 5th set.

nice gesture but the issue of course is when you have a net cord, it occurs anywhere in the match you let it through, so why would you adapt this for match pt?

To illustrate:



See 1:22 and 9:20 pt.

Let cords going one way each to break/hold.

Has there been a notable incident where a player agreed to replay the point on a net cord? If it was match point or a very important point in the development of the match? Or is it generally understood that it's part of the game?

oh definitely. part of the game. You might think your opponent will serve it out but they are broken and lose the set and it drags on for up to an hour or more.

light warmups. stretches, light jogs etc. and then waiting I guess, may watch it live on tele

What do players generally do before their match starts if they are already done practicing for the day? Because even though there is an order of play, they wouldn't know exactly when their match starts. It depends on how long the previous matches take, if a match ends early due to retirement, if their match is moved to another court,etc. Do they just wait inside the locker room/players area until they are called onto court?

No they can't see the remainder of the match with their ticket which is only valid for one day.

And generally you can't buy a new ticket outside of black market since everything is sold out (if we're talking about RG).

If a match gets suspended and needs to be completed the next day, either from rain or darkness, what happens to the fans who purchased a one day ticket for that particular court? Do they get to see the remainder of the match, or do they need to buy a new ticket for the following day?

I remember Becker was headed towards this score against Sampras in Stuttgart 1996, but turned the tide eventually and won 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Pretty sure we've had the exact score but can't think of a concrete incident atm.
