All,

The 2012 games are finally upon us.

Opening Ceremony is on July 27th and Closing Ceremony on August 12th.

Who is going? Anyone working there?

So many rivalries and individual challenges will be settled at this event. Looking forwards to more track and pool World records.

I must say I like the ending ceremony better than the opening. Just a classy ending with rational amount of effects and some great, everlasting music.

This has been pretty shit to be honest, I expected more. Shame to end the games on this average note.

While Liam mumbled through his brothers song, Blur headline hyde park to 75 000 people.

I think we all know who really won the battle of britpop

Oasis are the superior band, easily. Loved Damon Albarn but no way do they touch Noel and Liam as a combination.

This is basically a party. Too much of this country's shit exports. One Direction, Jessie J, these no-marks don't deserve to be there. I can see why they've done it this way. The opening ceremony was so fantastic they were never touching it.

Oh ffs, the British are redefining the concept of exacerbated patriotism... both ceremonies have been nothing but a major glorification of all things British. It's Britain, Britain, Britain and Britain... jeez, it's the Olympic Games guys, it's the international event par excellence!

Nah man, Blur have way more integrity and a thoroughly cohesive back catalogue, while Oasis wrote 1 good album and about 10 good singles, same old material after their first two albums.

Its all a bit cliche, but whatever. It's been a great games, I am impressed with how well it went.

Who is leading?

The games encompasses not only sporting prowess, but a bringing together of cultures from all over the world, with the host showcasing their own cultural contribution.

After two weeks of solid sport, who wants to see some naff theatre version of sport when you can have music and something creative.

Yes, but does it encompass only the host showcasing their own cultural contribution? Because that's pretty much all we've had.

And why does a naff theatre version of sport have to be the only alternative?

Poulter is a good player, he hasnt won enough for his talent but he's the first guy i'd have in Ryder cup matchplay, he's been one of the best players for us in that comp many times
