ok there is a clay tournament in Hamburg for 500 after next week.
He has to play this . Getting #1 and playing 500 tournaments. He has
only played 1(dubai) and he can have 5 of them. http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Tournaments/Hamburg.aspx
In my disappointment over Murray I only just remembered this infuriating side effect of Federer's win I think Nole will get it back before long, though...doubt Federer can outplay him consistently.
He was the only player not to play before wimbledon and if he did he'd still be on top and probably better prepared. He is taking
it too lightly but he is not on some big winning streak .
Rank#1 or #2 won't affect his draw in Olympics. If he wins, he will regain his #1 ranking although unless Federer totally bombed out in the two summer 1000 events or Nole wins both, Roger will be back to #1.
I see absolutely no reason for Nole not taking a rest before the long summer.
If he plays this tournament he is back to #1 for olympics and gives him some security for the summer.
If he doesn't play, he will get penalized and will get 0 as he won't play 500 tournamets until after USO or maybe like last year won't play them at all .
Getting #1 for the USO is also important as he would be the favourite. That's not to mention that Rafa can also take him over and quickly he is at #3 which is also very realistic.
As for the rest, he just had 2 weeks of rest between the slams. He has played only around 45 matches this year. I was listening to John Mcenroe unfortunately and he said that Nole will never get back #1 again and there are many of them who are hoping for it.
Number one or number 2, doesn't really matter. Nole will still be, cliché but true, will still be our number one. Besides isn't it a bit boring if number one is always the same. Variability is the key to happiness.
Losing #1 rank is bad to a player that doesn't respect you
Losing #1 rank is bad to a player that you have dominated lately
Losing #1 rank is bad that is on the other side of 30's
Losing #1 rank is bad to a player that just plays more than you do and is more motivated
Losing #1 rank is bad when it can lead to slipping further away
I don't know about what goes through his head but that list makes me cringe.
I don't care about ranking , I care more about the facts in front of my eyes :
Nole is the most complete tennis player in the world now , but grass still his [least preferred] surface > [ Fact ]
* Nole is the ONLY tennis player in the world who has the physical and technical abilities to collect the 4 grand slam tournaments in one calender year > [ Fact ]
* Federer now can't win a grand slam title with Nadal in his way , even in Mars [ Fact ]
* Nadal destroys Federer on any surface , anywhere , any time[ Fact ]
* Murray can't win a grandslam title with Fedal/Nole in the final [ Fact ] , he needs to pray day and night for all of the 3 to get injuried , so he can achieve his [dream]

I think that No need to worry about Novak future , he is fine , and he will be back very soon <3
he lost both the slam and no. 1, i do not understand all this rationalization going around. basically, since the ao final he lost the killing instict and the will to win. even then, he was helped by nadal, but at least he hanged in there until nadal shoveled that bh into the tramlines. in paris and in london, he came out playing the most important matches as if he did not care.
just like something switched on after he won dc, something switched off after that dc injury and loss to del potro. save for ao flash in the pan, everything he produced so far was lacklustre.
hope that this defeat will spur him into action, but something tells me he will need more than that.
Well, Nadal was sent packing right after winning RG, Fed won a GS after 2 yrs of frustration, Murray is still slamless... further down the road Lendl never won Wimbledon, Wilander and JMac never won anything anymore after their best seasons, and a whole bunch of great players never won anything big. Try to be more realistic, winning all the time is obviously incredibly hard.
Not sure what's with the fixation you have with those "optionals". Unless he's hell bent on breaking the record, #1 doesn't matter that much, Hewitt has more weeks and less slams, and nobody cared about that.
I tend to live in the moment and that's how sports goes as well. As far as optionals, I guess you think they don't matter but that's the main reason why he lost #1 but then again you don't think #1 matters so what can I say
I've been avoiding all tennis forums after Wimbly because I knew all the Fedtards would be wetting themselves, but I thought I might as well put in my 0.02 here.
Nole has definitely not been at 2011 level. That match against Federer was absolutely pathetic. Nole 2011 Wimbledon form would've easily beaten him. I think Nole was probably somewhat rattled by his grandfather dying, but he's definitely lost focus. You can't expect to win when you aren't focused and have such a negative attitude. :-/ Seriously, that 4th set killed me. As soon I saw that Nole was broken, I just ran away. It was just...ugh.
Hopefully Nole will be energized by the Olympics and kick some ass. Fighting for Serbia always seems to recharge his fires. I don't really care about him playing loads of 500s, though he definitely needs to make up on the post USO Asian Swing, but I think he should've played a little more. He didn't really prep for AO 2012, and he came out flat before RG. Nole needs a strong USO series and hopefully a USO win (though I'm rooting for Murray to take his first slam sometime soon...) to re-energize him.
ADJE.
And, GTFO Fedtards. This is the NOVAK DJOKOVIC forum.
