Re: Captain Clément in Charge - Davis Cup

I think you're lucky not being french fluent and not being in France to follow closely this bad story.
French féderation, french journalists, former french players are all saying shit about Arno. There are doing a kind of trial about him and I have not to tell you that their arguments are not fair and only there to say he was a bad captain.
Some players of his team has also left him only six month after confirm he was a good captain

Well it's not the most horrible thing that can happen in life we are ok but that's obvioulsy really bad period for Arno who was already devastated by the loss against great britain.

Kezzi There hasn't been a post in this topic for a long time.
Anyway, I just found this:
https://twitter.com/20minutes/status/640469319638499328

Is it just a rumor?
I can't imagine they are blaming Arnaud for losing these ties.
Poor guy, so much Davis Cup spirit and then he gets this.
I hope they don't get a situation like in Germany. The players wanted to keep the captain, but still the federation replaced him. It also didn't get them very far.
They should give someone the chance and time to build a solid team. It's not easy with injured top players. Not for Germany and also not for France.

Re: Captain Clément in Charge - Davis Cup

i don't see the matches, just the scores afterwards. on paper the french should still win. let's hope they won't be unlucky again. especially if arnaud wants to keep 'capitaine' under his name..

personally i think the swiss are even more shocking lol

That's not the smiley I would use.

Another captain won't make miracles with injured/bad/depressed players.
If they win double today...demain est un autre jour ! They can't do worse anyway. I still hope they can win.

Maybe last day as a captain

I didn't see Bennet match but it seems he was bad like Simon was in Buenos Aires. Arno is not an help for them. Jo was not lucky. It was an awful day and we need a miracle.

I feel sorry for frenchies and for Arno of course

Re: Captain Clément in Charge - Davis Cup

but good to have home advantage again

i think arnaud has really made his mark as captain, especially in his choice of players. not many teams have the luxury of their top players for first round... so why not make the most of them?

as i munge into my st. dalfour jam bread, and will head out in my peugeot car to visit my french mechanic (because the car breaks down a lot), let's celebrate all things french ....

Re: Captain Clément in Charge - Davis Cup

I was only there yesterday. We left after the match so no meet with Arno and photos either. During a match I'm not able to take picture I'm too focus on the game and honestly since my last camera broke I have only my phone.

I was just near the club of supporters so good ambiance. Davis Cup ambiance are the best

I was happy to see Richard doing such a good second part of match millions of beautiful backhand he made my day.
