Agree with this. We don't need anymore scenes to show how he is a terrible person. I think we get it now. Now that he has killed a baby (his brother no less) with rabid dogs, there's nothing he can do to bring himself any lower. he has far surpassed Joffrey as most deplorable human in the story but for some reason things were just more when Joffrey did them.

Always that Roose was probably the single most doomed character on the show. No way did Ramsey never become lord.

Re: HBO game of thrones - anyone watching?

An awesome episode 2. A big

Lots of good stuff:
- Max von Sydow.
- Bran, Meera and Hodor are back.
- Flashback with young Ned, Benjen, Hodor and (yes!) Lyanna was awesome.
- Looks on Alister's and Ollie's faces as Wun Wun storms the gates of Castle Black was priceless.
- Bryenne talking to Sansa about Arya.
- Ramsay killing Roose was a complete surprise to me. Karstarks will be backing Ramsay obviously (stupid Robb).
- "That’s what I do. I drink, and I know things." Tyrion and dragons getting friendly. Some fan theories about Tyrion might be true indeed. Tyrion the Dragonraider.
- Greyjoys looking good. Annoying Balon is dead, welcome "I am storm" Euron. Melisandre's magic at work here as well if you forgot. Balon was the last of three kings she cursed with Gendry's blood (Robb, Joffrey and Balon). Kingsmoot with Euron vs Yara (and maybe Theon) will be fun.
- Jon Snow is back earlier than expected. Although I thought Melisandre will fail this first time, but I guess they need to move storylines.
- Last but not least - no Sand Snakes.

Not so good things:
- The episode was longer than the previous one, but still way shorter than 60mins. Stop shortchanging us HBO.
- Faith Militants bore and annoy me and serve no purpose. Just get rid of them together with Sand Snakes. A waste of time.
- Arya was meh. I did not enjoy watching her getting beat up.
- No Daenerys.

And the next week episode looks even more awesome with the Tower of Joy flashback.

Jon

I guess this season will be the big battle between Jon and Ramsay.

Episode 2 tonight. All I expect from this episode (and all other ones) is not to be shorter than full 60 minutes. No more 45 minute ripoffs. Too much material to cover. Please don't shortchange us, by stealing 5-15 minutes from each episode.

Anyway my point is the money is not or should not be the reason or justification for not making more episodes per seasons as some of you were trying to claim.
My previous post was arguing that it would not be as simple to add more episodes as some people were claiming in part due to cost. Ultimately, if the producers of the show asked for a 14 episode season HBO would agree immediately.

You said in your previous post that it was.

Anyway my point is the money is not or should not be the reason or justification for not making more episodes (or at least full proper length episodes, instead 45 minutes hafling they did for the S6 opener) per seasons as some of you were trying to claim.

As for the rest I answered it here:

At least they could give us full 10 episodes i.e 60+ minutes, not make the season opener mere 45 minutes long. They could have added 15 minutes of Bran, or Tower of Joy flashback for example.

I am afraid they are going to rush through last three "shortened" seasons, instead doing them properly and will make a mediocre show instead of the greatest thing on TV ever. It would be a real shame.
If "showrunners" are "tired" and are trying to cut the corners with the show now, they should not have started the series that they know will be a huge undertaking, only to slack it of at the end and rush to close and wrap it up. Makes no sense to me.

Say if only 3M *$16 ~ $50M/month i.e per 4 episodes. That is more than $10M per episode from only 3M new subscriptions.

No way it is only $10M/season. i.e $1M/episode. That is nothing. GoT spend much more.

Here they say it is about 6M/episode, which seems like more reasonable number. And no it is not the most expensive show ever

7 of the Most Expensive TV Shows Ever Made

This being said I don't think Vikings cost much less.

Doctor Who's current seasons have been around that budget too, comparatively: around 1M $/episode (the Seasons have 12-13 episodes per season and often a Christmas special).
Nothing too out of the oridinary, I believe. Unless they are two of the most expensive to produce...

I think most of Game of Thrones' sets are less expensive because their locations are often cheaper to film in. And Doctor Who is sci-fi/drama, so the special effects are often more evident (even if there are loads in GoT too, of course).

(I'm comparing GoT to DW because the latter is the show I follow the most closely, obviously.)

Re: HBO game of thrones - anyone watching?

just finished the first episode of season 6 , dunno , feels like the show went downhill after season 4

most of characters feels out of place especially arya and tyrion , but anyways the next episodes should be fun with the white walkers and bran stark stepping in , and tyrion getting into some action saving the day , should be fun .

King's Landing, Meereen and Danny's scenes were entertaining as well, but I expected a bit more (especially from the King's landing). On the other hand everything related to Dorne should just burn immediately, they should just show the dragon burning the whole island down with the main characters from Dorne dying in horrifying agony on screen. Even that'd be more entertaining and better thought-through than the current situation. I particularly hate the sand snakes scene, they have to add some completely rubbish line every time, this one was almost as bad as the bad pussy one.
Burn them all or just let Varys say on the screen that his little birds told him that the Dorne was plundered and every person was killed and it won't play any role whatsoever.
Pretty much my thoughts.
