Keep crying, Gagsquet. It's not going to bring Gasquet back into the draw. Murray's back was fine, there was nothing wrong with it today. The first set was just bad by his standards. After the second set he destroyed Gasquet because he was on fire and he was superior. Suck it up and get used to it. Murray has beaten Gasquet 4 times now in slams. He's just the far superior player. Get over it.

You mean they were hoping he would, as it was the only way Gasquet would win?

Now in the Nieminen match, yes, everybody was expecting him to give up, because at that time we knew he had withdrawn from Madrid with a back injury and he did look in real trouble: the explanation that it was not the same problem, but a back spasm, cleared that point up.

Clearly he was faking when he withdrew from Madrid. With a back injury.

Or when he's been saying all season it's been a problem since end of last year.

No no, he did not follow the French example, which is when at risk of losing do not make a comeback but surrender and collapse in a heap often leaving your allies in the lurch

Not really sly but he was definitely being obnoxious. The same people who defend him also point out he was smiling. Obviously, he was not trying to provoke neither his opponent or the crowd. NOT. So if you want to praise him for his badassery in fighting a passionate crowd which dislikes dishonesty on court, then you should acknowledge he was playing mind games and that is not to everyone's taste. Certainly not to mine so I hope he loses in the next round.

That's *because* you didn't watch after the first set. He is often a slow starter.

Re: Roland Garos R4:Murray def. Gasquet 1-6 6-4 6-1 6-2(Clinical Destruction)

Gasquet would've been demolished by Ferrer anyways, so at least we get an interesting Quarterfinal to watch.

But the way Gasquet lost was quite sad - double faulted at 4:5 in the 2nd set to lose the set, double faulted again in his first service game in the third, and he never recovered from that.

Murray just too solid, and those drop-shots, often followed by a lob hurt Gasquet so much.

Pretty much everything he did right against Tommy Haas in sets 3 & 4, yesterday nothing worked in his favor anymore.

(of course it's very possible physically but you know, people are suspicious : from what I've heard the British press has been harsh with him about that)

Besides, it was not the same people in the public, and it's possible that the fact he playeds Gasquet played a role as well. But I don't remember players being booed before a match against a French player in the past, during the match it's different.
People are remarkably suspicious - and also, apparently, infallible. They never have aches that come and go. Lucky them, I say. I get twinges here and there from time to time. Sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not.

Sometimes my back is a little stiff and I even find myself touching it - in public. I dare say some people think I'm faking it and I'm cheating at walking, and life, and stuff, but then, people will tell themselves and believe the most stupid things.
