Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

Some of the top players listed here are also on Rome masters qualifying list. It will be interesting to see what happens if they come to semis here. Maybe someone plays on both tournaments same day (Tsonga did so a couple of years ago in London/Queens and Surbiton CH)

Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

Simone vs Rycka? Oh hell no

Simone basically must make the finals. Brizzi can cause trouble in the QF should the two play. Hopefully Rufin loses before the SF so Simone doesn't have to play him. If that happens, a final is a must.

GL to Quinzi in his R1, getting a qualifier is definitely advantageous.

Look for Teixeira to take Gulbis out R1. Also GL to every single potential opponent vs Machado.

Benjamin Mitchell AUS [1] vs. Walter Trusendi ITA [8]
Bastian Knittel GER [2] vs. Rhyne Williams USA [5]

Henri Laaksonen FIN vs. Andrei Daescu ROU

Fabbri took out Struff :help:

Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

GL to Berankis, hopefully he can play a good match here and maybe get the W.
don't expect too much from him - it's his first match on his least favourite surface against talented italian player. Personally I would wait for grass season for him to make some noise

Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

because Muller wanted to play some clay court tournaments this year as he has the ranking to play some ATP events on clay also (more money + points)

Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

perhaps im being optmistic but i really think andrey can make the final with this draw

and, okay, i know simone is good on clay and yes at home. However he really has not done anything this year aside from winning a challenger that had a weak field and in which he didnt even have to get out of 3rd gear. Rycka may be coming back from injury but simone also retired from a match recently himself

maybe rycka has a shot?

Re: Week 19 : Rome-2 (Entry List)

Kuznetsov definitely can beat Simone. Simone can lose to anyone. I don't see Berankis winning over him, though. He has the game to cause him problems but this is clay and Rycka is still just coming back.
