I'm not optimistic about his chances in Miami, it's been his worst MS since he won it back in 2006. He lost to Roddick there twice which pretty much sums things up. But let's hope the knee is fully recovered and he's feeling better

Re: Roger news and articles

I mean it's nice he is back for Miami, which is earlier than expected. Roger always comes back when he is 100% ready, he doesn't mess around when it comes to fitness, health etc.

But I was expecting him to not play Miami, seeing as after this he isn't going to play a hard court tournament until the summer?!

Not sure why he would train on a HC when he's got two months of clay + one month of grass??

Anyway, not expecting much, a couple wins and competitive juices flowing would be good.

At least he will be less rusty when I see him in Monte Carlo

i think its a good decision, just to see where he stands, assuming hes fit.

If he's confirmed to play Miami, then I'm sure he's been given the OK from his doctors and team.
However, I just don't think it's a good decision.

I trust he knows what he's doing. Seems a bit of an odd thing to do, to me. Maybe help him retrieve a few points.

So it looks like Roger will play Miami

I trust it's a wise decision healthwise.

I think he's using this time to do things for his sponsors and other business partners. Appearances for Nike, mingling with other brand ambassadors, photo shoots/commercials for Wilson or someone else. Getting this kind of stuff done now means he doesn't have to do it while he's training and playing tournaments later, which is good as his days are already quite busy when he's playing.

Unless California is better in some way for rehabbing his knee injury - or simply getting some outdoor practice, which he can't do in Switzerland at the moment, I'd guess.
I doubt this would apply to Roger since he can skip as many mandatories as he like. But maybe he wants to do it despite not being obliged to.
