Wind is the biggest problem here. Paris is even slower, but somehow matches are better.

It's slow, but you get the potential for point construction, finesse and creativity when you watch a match on it. I enjoyed Cuevas/Pella and plenty of matches from Buenos Aires and Rio. And Roland Garros was the best Slam last year.

But ultra-slow hard courts do absolutely nothing for anything, or anyone. They favour pushfests, grind-a-thons, unforced errors galore, bad serving, and donated breaks of serve like a charity. They're rubbish and need to go. Besides the del Potro run in 2013 IW has been nothing but shite for a long time. We know Nadal is Larry Ellison's favourite player and the surface is unsurprisingly tailor made for him, but it's become even more tailor made for Djokovic, so maybe we'll see a change? We need to. I'd rather it was clay tbh!
true. Made me nauseous trying to watch Kei hit past Johnson who kept slicing everything back. A couple of 20+ shot rallies

Court speed has been the same since 2003. It is neutral now and everyone has chance. In the past it only favors big servers so it isn't fair.

IW is already beyond ridiculous. This has nothing to do with hard court tennis anymore.

Re: "Speed up the courts and general court speed Thread"

Indoor tennis at Rotterdam 2016: Coric-DeBakker 2h33m, Chung-Garcia-Lopez 2h42m, Simon-Zverev 2h55m, Klizan-Bautista 2h44m, Klizan-Mahut 2h46m.
Todays two doubles semis with the match tiebreaker lasted 1h34m and 1h46m.

No need for speeding up the courts. Please make it even slower. Those matches are just too quick.

WOW you fedtards are desperate for novak's dominace to end even though it's only been 1year yet your guy dominated for 4straight years, yet other fanbases didn't complain this much SMH... Just wonder what would happend to you tards if novak dominated for the next 2 years with close to this years dominace you probably wouldn't even survive.
Funny how you people loved it when novak had only 1 grandslam and started to defeat nadal on a regular bases. But now when novak is finally threathing your "fake god" records you are desperate for someone to step up and beat him or him to get a rival that beat him regulary when noserer didn't have anyone all those 4 YEARS! Talk about hipocrisy at it's finest, how funny. You can't have the cake and eat it too SMH. And NO the court speed won't change cry all you want.

There were just 5 breaks in the first 7 games of a men's doubles match featuring Bopanna and the Bryans.

Somewhere, an ATP exec is watching and thinking, "We need more of this."

This. Although, apparently the AO has been getting quicker the last few years at least.

The same balls and the same surface. I guess the weather is also pretty much the same. Still quite a difference. It seems like the US Open will be the slowest HC-tournament of the summer swing.
