Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

This is such a GOAT thread. Right up there with David "Pics" Ferrer

I love going back and reading the first pages and all the 80-85 predictions. Priceless.

Clay Warrior, you my friend, are a beast

Well, Haas is the most similar player to Federer on tour and is almost there despite collecting 2-3 injuries per year.

Federer certainly should be able to win titles like Halle until 40. Hell, he might even surpass Nadal´s 3 decimas if he puts his teeth on it.

However, sadly I doubt he will ever get to the big decima Nadal achieved in RG. Now, that would be one mission from hell to start whispering about if he gets nr 18. Even if he gets there I now sense 12 RGs is in the horizon for Rafa.

Tennis is going from surreal to surrealerer to surrealalerer, where will this end?

Biggest chances for Roger this year will be Cincinatti, Basel and Shanghái (in that order) Tha would be more tan enough to surpass Lendl (I don't want to mention that big Green tournament or I feel I could jinx it -that would be enough for me-)

109 titles would be tough, assuming he plays until he's 39 (!), he'd need to average 6 titles a year, when 6 titles a year is a tremendous result for players in their prime and = Roger has managed to win 6 titles only twice in his 30s.

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

The 20 majors should have been done already.

Roger left too much on the table, especially at Wimbledon 2014 and the USO 2015.

That's why I'm not entirely happy with the Swiss Assassin, but it looks like he could still get 20 anyway.

But first things first; #19 beckons at Wimbledon.

As long as he stays healthy the 100 titles looks like a very good bet and he clearly has a shot of winning Wimbledon this year and if he does that the 20 slams is obviously doable.

Surpassing Connors would only really be anywhere near likely if he was to enter a load of optional events.

Very impressive. So many titles on the slowest surface, yet even more titles on one of the fastest. Excellent stuff.

Now it's time for the Clay warrior to rack up titles on clay in the next months.
Your "feeling" about Halle was correct, as well as Clay Warrior racking up the titles on the clay.

Well done! Highest commendations deserved.

4 titles halfway through the year, even after skipping a quarter of it.

Wimbledon next up for the Swiss Assassin. It is on his racquet. The question is whether it happens this year or next.

Considering the state of the field, the state of the top echelon, the opportunity may never be better than this year, no?

General Hercules, it seems possible that Ivan Lendl (94 titles) could get passed this year.

I say it happens if he stays healthy. That means at least 3 more for Roger before the year is out.

What's so shocking is that his by far best surface - grass- has very few tournaments.

Lendl's number was helped with so many clay tourneys.

Imagine if grass had as many tourneys as clay (like during Connors), Fed would have had 120+ titles easily.
