Re: Vasek Pospisil

That is really too bad. When someone has given so much of their life to succeed in something, and then an injury which becomes chronic takes it away from them. Wishing him better times.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

3 final qualifying round loses in a row for Vasek.

His last Main Draw win was back in Atlanta in July.

The last time he successfully qualified for a draw was Eastbourne.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek will fall back out of the top 100. Currently 103 in the live rankings.

Tuggy No surprise, he lost.

I see he beat Fritz in qualies, that's a good result. I have no choice but to reinvest a little hope in Vasek.

He got through the first round of qualifying in Shanghai. Let's see if he can surprise and actually qualify.

Vasek was 0 for 10 on BPs in the 2nd set. I'd say that's pretty unbelievable, but it is Vasek.

What's the story?
He retired after a set at the US open. He was injured enough to not play singles at Davis cup. And was certainly in discomfort earlier this week in the close loss to Baghdatis who went on to reach the final.

This leads me to believe he is far from 100%.

Shanghai with fast courts is next so I have some hope he can do something even with the injured back there.

Yup, just gotta beat the #432 & #259 ranked players. Easier than falling off a log, right? That spot in the main draw is like money in the bank! Oh wait ...

He was working with Jan de Witt and Jan Vacek from the Break Point academy in Germany on a trial basis at the US open. Don't know if that is still a thing.

He needs about 20-30 points to guarantee a MD spot at the AO so will probably stick around because of that.
