Well.. uhm, he did play a future in Canada this summer, right? So it's not that fat fetched at all. Though yeah, I would expect him to play a challenger or try qualifying for a 250 or 500 event.
Thanks for the update btw Nice to know his schedule for the upcoming weeks!

Because he's an embarrassment to the sport. He's good enough to beat Nole, he showed it in both Indian Wells AND Miami. He has what it takes to beat him. Yet, he keeps on losing to the same guy over and over and over again. I refuse to support such a weak minded player. It's a mental block. Like I said, he's good enough to beat him, yet he can't. If he wasn't GOOD ENOUGH then that would be a different story, but I know he's good enough to beat him. His strong mentality go down the drain every time they play together though. It's embarrassing to watch.
For week of October 3, Vasek is signed up for the Sacramento challenger, so it looks he is is not doing the Asian tour.
Sacramento is 100K and is followed the next week by another 100K challenger in California. I guess he figures the big challengers are the right level for him now.
Unfortunately for the squad, and all the assorted board members, assistants, associates and suits along for the trip, if Pospisil gets to pick where they’ll hold the celebratory dinner, it’s more than likely going to be …
Stephanie: Which leads to the burning question: do they have Subway in Ramat Hasharon? Sep 16th
Fred: I tried to divert VP when I saw "subway" but it didn't work. It's like VP smells this resto chain from miles away.
Stephanie: Seriously, dude, NY delis make the most delish subs. Subway has one flat piece o'meat, half a piece o' cheese.
Vashy: If u ever want to interview me again, I suggest u don't insult my favorite restaurant. Subway is another level
On the court after the match, he was overjoyed and particularly pleased to celebrate with his coach Fred Niemeyer.
“Can I have a beer tonight,” Pospisil asked Niemeyer.
“When have I ever said ‘no,’” replied the passionate former pro. “You can have a case.”
++++
That's Fred all over.
NB another sign that Fred is better as a coach than as a player: he was wretched in live 5th rubbers, but his pupil has shown he is definitely up for the challenge.
“If you think about it, it’s unreal. I don’t know where he got the strength,” Milos Pospisil told Open Court from Vancouver. “I can’t believe it’s happening. You have these dreams, and all of a sudden, we are living the dream.
On Friday, 27-year-old Peter, a teacher at Kitsilano Secondary, followed the fourth set against Sela in his car, then streamed the fifth set while teaching his morning Chemistry 12 class.
"I was trying to teach, but I had to explain to the kids why I was sweating and stressed," he said.
"It's been so emotional. I don't know how he did it because we are all exhausted."
[...]
But representing Canada, said Peter, has always been his younger brother's dream.
"It's unimaginable to think back how many years he's been thinking about it, and to have the deciding match on your racket, it's a huge deal for Vasek," he said.
I joined the forum just to say that. I think he would have beaten Weintraub even if he had lost the second set. Imagine serving two aces per game even when your legs are tired.
Grant Connell had a similar performance against the Netherlands in 1990, but that was in Canada.
Canada's Davis Cup hero, Vasek Pospisil is back home in Montreal and met with the media today. Check out what he had to say about his exploits in Israel and Canada's chances in the World Group in 2012.
Vasek also talked about all of the attention he has been getting over his Davis Cup heroics and which body parts hurt the most on Monday morning after spending over 8 hours on court over the weekend
Press Conference after defeating Sela in the first match of the tie.
Press conference after defeating Amir Weintraub in the 5th match.
Not surprised he pulled out after the weekend he had but seems weird that no one was told. Or do they just but no show even if he just let them know he wasn't coming.
Really to Vasek's credit that despite all the DC excitement and exhaustion, he still managed to tweet a message of encouragement for Polansky and Peliwo playing in the Futures.
I think Vasek has another brother if I'm not mistaken, named Tom. I have seen a couple of tweets back and forth between then on Twitter Seems like he has a big family!
The last part of his season scheduling may depend on his rankings, whether it's high enough to make the direct Aussie Open MD or not. If it doesn't look good, he would try to play as many tournaments(=5) as he can.
At this point,
1) Need 132 more points for 104th position
2) 52pts from the last year to defend
3) Based on the results in the upcoming tournaments, some of the current countable-lowests will be taken off : 8/8/10/15/15
So overall about (132 + 52 + 25~50) will be needed.
all 5 of the current lowest wouldn't be replaced as the 3 results that are coming off in 2011 would be replaced first. so if he played 5 events and assuming all 5 counted, he'd need to get
132 + 52 + 16 = 200
so he'd need 200 points from 5 events assuming all 5 count and assuming the 104 spot has the same amount of points by years end as it does now.
Vashy seemed a bit surprised/embarrassed that the reporter returned his serve so well. Probably he thought his serve would blow away the reporter.
A tough draw indeed. To me, it's even more unfortunate that they have to meet in the first round, as I wish Thiemo to find his form as soon as possible.
