It's actually his 6th match, he won 3 in qualies and 2 in main draw.

I know it's not the right thing but I kinda hope it was a bit of a tank from Kei...because it seem like he had no chance to win at all.

Of course. I must have been asleep when I first read it.
I was too tired to post yesterday but did check the live scores, Kei was well into the 70s on first serve % throughout most of the match. His points won on 2nd serves was much better than Andujar, the only thing to criticise is the low conversion rate on bps in the 1st set.

Next match will be on a show court and is set to start at around 7:30am here, I might be able to catch most of it! Go Kei!!
Maybe I can watch him play before I go to work too! (If I can get up in time that is... )

Here's the detailed OOP:

COURT 2 start 12:00 noon
[Q] J Benneteau (FRA) vs I Andreev (RUS)
[LL] P Duclos (CAN) vs [10] R Haase (NED)

Not Before 4:00 PM
S Darcis (BEL) vs [8] M Baghdatis (CYP)
[Q] K Nishikori (JPN) vs [7] J Monaco (ARG)

Kei Nishikori was kind enough to answer a few questions of our Quick Q & A after his win in the last round of qualifying at the Winston-Salem Open. Check it out...

Q. What has been your greatest moment on the tennis court so far?Kei: I have two - US Open 2008 Round of 16, and in the same year I won first ATP Tournament (Delray Beach), so I had a good memory there.
[Kei! You've reached R16 only once!]

Q. What is your passion outside of Tennis?
Kei: I play some golf sometimes and reading some books.

Q. What books are you reading?
Kei: It's in Japanese, it’s Japanese mystery.

Q. What is something that annoys you?
Kei: Actually not much, I don’t get much stressed. I can’t think of it, so I guess I don’t have it.

Q. What are you most afraid of?
Kei: Used to be my Dad but not anymore. (laughter)

Q. If there was a fire and you could only save on thing, not a person, what would you save?
Kei: Of course passport. I guess, computer.

Q. If you had one superhero ability, what would it be?
Kei: Flying.

Re: Kei in Winston Salem

Thanx for the updates, misty!

The scores today is much better for our hearts than yesterday!
Yeah he's got a real shot to go far. The last time they met, at USO 2008 which Kei won in four sets, Pico was just back from a long illness and wasn't playing at his best. Still I think Kei has a chance there this week. Hope he won't be too tired before USO... the next round will be his sixth match in five days...

Re: Kei in Winston Salem

took the first set 7-6(7-3) in a tiebreaker and is up 5-2, serving for the match

some notes:

he went 0/6 in break points that first set

he's serving very well today, 69% with 76% if points won off his first serve and 61% off his second serve

he did get broken from 30-0 at 4-1 up but broke back immediatley
