Monette into the semis with a 3 set win over 2nd seed Nevolo who has been playing very well over the past few weeks (Final last week, semis the week before)

Re: Canadian Players 2

Monette is up #710 and is seeded 8th for the Bruno Agostinelli Futures in Niagara. He faces Canadian wild card Alexander Day in the first round

Unranked Damien Ghader is still alive in the final round of qualifying, as are Antoine Leduc and Washi Gervais who face each other.

Egor Koleganov, Victor Krustev and Stefan Frljanic are all wild cards here as well, and Krainik and Volfson are also in the main draw.

And he lost the 3rd 7-5 after having a break lead early

Loosie Galarneau takes the 2nd set 7-5! 5 breaks over 12 games in that set.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Galarneau lost the first set 6-4, he had a break chance in 2 of the first 3 games, but couldn't convert, and was broken near the tail end of the set (last I saw it was 3 all). He won only 1 less point than his opponent Qualifier Julian Zlobinsky in the first set. So it's a tight one.

Another college player, Alexis Galarneau(18 years old), will be in action today in the Cary CH. He goes to NC State, so he got a WC there.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Into the QFs with a win over fellow Canadian Pavel Krainik. He faces an American next, either 8th seeded Dennis Nevolo or Nicholas Hu. Could face Sigouin in the semis.

Did a small bit of research to see where he was, as he 23 and really only showed up this year. He's been playing tennis the past few years at Indiana University. Haven't look much further than that though.
I believe he was a top ranked u18 in Canada before going to Indiana. Did 4 full years as a Hoosier and assuming he's pro now.

Loosie Kelsey Stevenson got the qualifying WC, but Monette and Krainik got in as Alternates.

Re: Canadian Players 2

If you are keeping it as a Canadian (and really why wouldn't you) I would have to think he's next in line.

Now that Peliwo is in directly to qualies, does anyone know who the next WC would go to? Maybe Monette?
