Re: Stuttgart

The draw is okay in Hamburg. But he can fall down in rankings with a bad result.

Re: Stuttgart

Nice that he does well in doubles, but it's strange that he doesn't get it going in singles.
He obviously plays well in doubles. If he plays well in singles, things should start working soon, you'd say.

2nd seed in Hamburg next week, quite a good draw too. Auf geht's!

Re: Stuttgart

Yes! It`s good that he plays good in doubles that he doesn`t lose his confidence.

This picture Jürgen posted on twitter.

Re: Stuttgart

Melzer/Petzschner did win in doubles. Philip also lost in singles today.

Re: Stuttgart

I am certain something is upsetting him and he is not fully concentrating on tennis. I hope it is still not his back. Last year was so great I was shocked to get up and see he lost today.
Better luck in the doubles.

Re: Stuttgart

I get so goddamn tired of these results. Was last year then so exceptional?

I know Giraldo can be tricky, and so is Malisse, but he won these matches every time last year...

Re: Stuttgart

He already had a lot of rest between his RG loss and Wimbledon. For some reason he just can't find the form he had last year. Maybe he had trouble going back to clay after playing on grass. Maybe it's the issues in his personal life. Maybe he's still a bit injured. Before the match he also complained about the heat on Twitter. I don't know, this is just a crappy year for him, especially compared to the last. At least he has that mixed doubles title.

Re: Stuttgart

Set down against Giraldo. Why doesn't he take the rest if he isn't fit? He clearly isn't because he wouldn't be struggeling so much lately...

Re: Stuttgart

1. Gaël Monfils
2. Jürgen Melzer
3. Mikhail Youzhny
4. Gilles Simon
5. Florian Mayer
6. Nikolay Davydenko
7. Andreas Seppi
8. Guillermo García-López

wildcards into the singles main draw:
Robin Kern
Łukasz Kubot
Cedrik-Marcel Stebe

entry from the qualifying draw:
Pavol Červenák
Victor Crivoi
Federico del Bonis
Evgeny Donskoy

I like that nobody gets a bye to rnd 2!

Personally, I'll be cheering for both Melzer and Kubot!

Re: Stuttgart

Giraldo is a tough draw, but he hasn't played for a while so hope Jurgen can win. He has a good draw afterwards.

Jürgen is seeded as number 2 and will play first round against Santiago Giraldo. I think a good result is probably.
