Re: Philipp Petzschner

Tennis - 44-year-old Daniel Nestor will partner German Philipp Petzschner next season. The Canadian doubles legend spoke to noted Canadian tennis writer Tom Tebutt during the ATP Paris Masters saying, ďI donít think my level fluctuates that much Ė unfortunately trying to find the right partner is not east at my age. Itís obviously going to be a battle moving forward. Iím playing with (Philipp) Petzschner next year and, when healthy, heís so talented. Iím looking forward to that opportunity, but hopefully heís healthy. Thatís the only thing that can hold us back. People werenít breaking my door down Ė letís put it that way. I was playing well in the summer and then I got injured (calf) at the US Open and that probably scared guys off. But Iím the same, you see something like that and you kind of lose faith. Then a few months later itís like Ďmaybe I should have done thatí Ė that kind of deal. Itís typical of doubles but I got to make the most of it. All I can control is my game and how well Iím playing. Thatís what Iím going to focus on and hopefully I can have the right partner beside me.Ē

Petzschner is currently ranked 59th in the world after missing six months of the season due to injury while Nestor is ranked 17th. The Canadian said he can continue to play well when he is healthy - going through to the semi-finals of this week's Paris Masters. "When Iím healthy I feel like Iím playing at a pretty decent level, by no means at the top of the world but I feel I still can compete with the top players. Iím enjoying these opportunities and these moments while I still can.Ē

Re: Philipp Petzschner

He's already teaming up with Johnson in Stockholm and he doesn't need to use PR.

In Vienna 500 with Steve Johnson

Next week the Antwerp website listed him with Peya, but Peya is injured so who knows.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Zverev and Petzschner should be IN because Thiem has withdrawn from the singles and most likely from the doubles competition as well in Shanghai.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

PR is #36.

Let's see if he really shows up next week in Shanghai...committed with A.Zverev and is first alternate. Would be great to have him back on tour.
