Re: 2011 Roland Garros

Yeah this whole Project 45 thing is getting really annoying. The sooner he passes it the better.

Good efforts by Kei and Gonzalez in doubles. Apparently Dante and Machi's coach are freinds and that's how they decoded to play together.

From Kei's blog about doubles: (Unofficial translation!)

It was a very frustrating defeat.
We were a step away [from victory], but they were strong.
Later I learned that they were a very strong team, both of them in top 10. (O, didn't know that? ) They were both very good at serve and volleying, and they were always moving on court. So they were putting a lot of pressure on us, it was a tough match.
But we were so close [to victory] so I feel frustrated.

I will practice for a couple of days here and will go to UK on Sunday.

So this year's French Open is over, but I feel grateful for the fact that I could play because many doctors helped me in Japan, and many people were concerned about me.
Of course, I'm not satisfied with the result, but I want to return next year stronger so that I can reach R3, R4.

Some nice pics here:

Kei doesn't look too confident for most of the match, and it's not the cool and calm presence either.
Maybe it was the heat + not a 100% after the illness suffered recently.

It's worrying, sometime I wish there was no P45 labelled on him...gotta break this curse.

He just lost in R2 doubles, but overall did pretty good against a seeded team.

Re: 2011 Roland Garros

Kei and Gonzalez took the first set 7-6(4).

But they're a break down in the second set 0-1*.

Shame there's no live streaming!

good job on winning the doubles, will be a tough next match though

Re: 2011 Roland Garros

Kei and Machi Gonzalez beat Cuevas and Dlouhy. 6-4 1-6 6-2.
Cuevas might not have been fit but it's a good win nonetheless.
So Kei's sojourn in Paris continues.

They will next play the winners of the fifth seed Bopanna/Quredshi and Seppi/Vagnozzi.

Re: 2011 Roland Garros

Just finished watching the match on HDD.
O well, Stakhovsky played really well. Kei should've attacked his FH side more.
I'm worried Kei's TB record this year is getting worse and worse.

Onto the grass season I guess. Good luck!

Cuevas retired injured in his singles R1, I don't know if he's still playing doubles, so Kei and Machi may play a LL pair.
:P This means they'll have a higher chance of winning...just hope for the best I guess.

I just PM you the links, cause I'm not sure if there're any rules against posting streams other then the thread in GM.
