As if I needed another reason to like Vasek so much - posted about growing up with his dogs on ATP site

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek likely won't win this, we all know he doesn't do well on slower surfaces.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

And even more importantly, can he get through the 5 set match without cramping? It's winnable if he is at 100%.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

It will all depend on how Vasek is serving. If he can keep the 1st serve % up then he has a good shot against Simon.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

This could be a quick AO for Vashy... terrible draw. Simon will grind him into 100 UE's

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Anyone see the match? Was Popsicle on his game? In any event, quality win ahead of a tournament where he has some good points to defend

Good to see the win over Karlovic! Sock up next will be tough.

Win over Karlovic and gets his partner in crime Jack Sock next.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

They had to overcome a lot of things this year, like Sock's injury at the start of the year, their losing streak this summer and the fact that they both focus on singles. They still came close, agonizingly close, to qualifying for the year-end championships. I hope they go to London anyway, just to hang out and see if anyone needs to be replaced.

Jack missed an easy putaway volley (after an epic point) when they had a mini break and then Vasek lost two straight points on his own serve to give them the lead (including an inexcusable DF). Dodig did get a netcord winner later but the momentum had shifted and they had already blown it by that point anyway.
