Forget the overrated clowns like Murray and Del Potro. From what I've seen in USO, Nole is back in business and hungrier than ever. He didn't beat Rafa (who was on fire), but he made a statement when he beat Federer saving 2 match points and reaching his first slam final since the AO win. His serve is getting better, the groundstrokes are amazing and it seems he's finally focusing full time on tennis. I am certain he will win his second grand slam next year, probably AO or USO. Count on it.
So, Novak had to refuse to go on court and the whole AO should have been postponed until Fed is 100% But why not - we all know Novak can't handle hot weather, so since it was hot weather then, it must mean Novak was playing with 0,5% of his abilities and still blew Roger off the court
No. Djokovic being a wuss and crying about the weather is his own fault. Fed cant help Mono nor fight it. Hes a human being not a robot ffs. even with Mono Noavk hardly blew him off the court ..baring the 2nd both sets 1 n 3 were very tight. Fed doesnt quit like certain players, quittimg aint in his nature. FUnny this, someone obviously didnt watch the match when both were fit 7 months later , or the year before or later. Djokovic has never blown Fed off the court. Their cincy match from last year was a better example of that
There were many, many Djokovic fans around here at 2008 . Many of them were irritating ,but there was one guy with the nick Branimir who was top of the list. He got some sign with : Nole will win Wimbledoon and Golden Slam this year
He was so irritating (and Federer hater) it was beating the likes of Farenhajt and Aloimeh.
And that is something not so easy to achieve!
Sadly noone of these hater stars is still around ( at least not with that nick), probably healing the wounds. It is dificult to see that three years from then the player you loved, you followed and you believed will be probably the best in the game for years to come , remained nothing more than One Slam Wonder.
So speaking of that, we will probably witness around this time next year, that this thread was just a non sence.
I really wonder which of the aforementioned three "stars" of MTF is the one who started this thread.
if you are going to slate posters, do it right. or better dont do it at all since you havent been here at the time.
beside that, there is more than enough reasons for this thread to stand, since after federer and nadal, djokovic is the player with biggest chances to win slams in the future. looking at numbers there is no argument against that claim.
I don't think Djoker is good enough to win on grass or clay, so Wimbly and FO are out. His best chances are AO and USO. I still have my doubts though, one bad draw with Rafa, Fed or Murray and he could lose.
I think Nole can win 2 slams this year. USO being the other one. Nole is the new King of HC, something Federer used to be in the past. Watch out for Nole at the WTF as well.
Call me crazy but I think Djokovic will win 3 slams next year: AO, Wimbledon and USO. He will also almost clean up the Master Series, with the exception of Monte Carlo, Cinci and perhaps Shanghai or Paris. Obviously he'll win Belgrade, and he should defend Dubai and maybe Beijing. Serbia will definitely reach the SFs of the Davis Cup, but if Djokovic wins the US Open the week before, who knows if he'll play, especially as if this all comes through, his W/L record would be ridiculous like 67-1 or 63-2 or something. All in all, it's a brave prediction, but I'm confident we'll look back at this in a year's time in wonderment.
Djokovic won THREE Slams. It's like saying Murray will win 2 Slams in 2011, that would be almost equally incorrect.
Shame on you.
(In it for the lolz)
