Exactly.

It's useful to check which moderator is online when you use the report button because that tells a lot.

I never thought it would be possible but GM is getting worse year by year.

Having a look at the banned users list trolling gets punished but I just wonder why a lot of other people are still allowed to troll when their intention is pretty obvious.

Why are there rules in the first place when people get away with ignoring them?

And there has really something to be done about people starting trolling and repititive threads.

Half of the new threads are merged or deleted with the old one's. Any topic of discussion that is slightly off-beat and might annoy a few people ends in infractions and deletion.

It's getting ridiculous.

Re: Temporary discouragement from making repetitive threads

A few years ago a poster (when I remember right Just Cause) got forbidden from starting threads on GM because s/he always started trolling/repetitive threads.
So I don't know why it is difficult these days to stop people from starting threads when they have shown that they only want to cause trouble.

The search function on MTF is way better as in other forums but what can you do when people don't use it?

We'd rather users chose to exercise some responsibility (and the search function) once in a while.
Users responsibility? Not to be called pessimistic, but with that you get 2 of 50 - if it's a high rate. I think implementing the software would have more success.

It's something we're considering but nothing has been decided as yet.

Temporary discouragement from making repetitive threads

I'm not suggesting even a temporary ban, but surely something could be, or is already coded into the software, to stop people from making repetitive, silly threads ad nauseam.

Could be put in place for a week or two in the hopes of discouraging them when their thread-making rights are restored.
