Amazing tie! Congrats for the German team

Hopefully Croatia can pull out the win. They've always been one of my favorite Davis Cup teams

Can Karlovic play well enough is a question. Who is their next player? The Dr. has been struggling and didn't play well enough today to play him in a 5th rubber, especially against a player who would be a bad match-up for him in Mayer, or a player he would have serious difficulty breaking in Picasso. They pretty much have to go with Dodig.

Will Dodig play again after his two thrilling 5-setters ?

Another very interesting and closed match in this tie. I reckon this tie is going to be close till the 5th rubber.

I still think Croatia is the favorite, but go Germany!

In all 3 matches the winning player/team came back from 1 set to 2 down. I'm going there tomorrow

GERMANY leads CROATIA 2-1

Christopher Kas/Philipp Petzschner (GER) d. Ivan Dodig/Ivo Karlovic (CRO) 63 36 57 63 64

big win for Germany, but everything still to play for tomorrow

This is the most interesting tie by far. Really looking forward to watch doubles match tomorrow. Really difficult to predict a winner on this tie.

CROATIA level with GERMANY 1-1

Marin Cilic (CRO) d. Florian Mayer (GER) 46 60 46 63 61
Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER) d. Ivan Dodig (CRO) 64 36 46 76(6) 64

Dodig had a mp for 2-0...

I hate it when guys like Ljubicic and Youzhny retire from Davis Cup . It's so dumb to retire from it when you can still play well

Not so sure about how passionate the crowd will be. Last year against Serbia and the year before against Czech Republic it was a disgrace. I'll probably go there on Sunday and I'll do my best to make some noise

Re: World Group 1R: Germany at Croatia (March 4-6, 2011)

Very interesting tie.

Germany has the class and depth. Croatia has the power, although it is heavily reliant on Cilic to perform.

Quite some pressure on Dodig now, and I'm not sure how he'll handle it. Both Germans are beatable, but he will have to be at his best and, for me, he is a bit overrated.

Veic is a bit redundant really, but it doesn't look like the team had any other options. No chance he sees any live action unless there is major fatigue/injury.

Would be nice if Germany goes through, although it is a little amusing that they're all known chokers (not sure about Kas) and will have to deliver against a passionate Croat crowd.
