Yes, he's a bit older, but he's in form now...

After winning 3 Futures in a row(Italy F13, Serbia F2, Austria F1), he qualified for two challengers... Firstly for San Marino, beating Naso in qualies, but losing in R1 to first seed Potito Starace in straight sets.. Next week, he qualified for Trani, where he defeated third seed Paolo Lorenzi in first round(63 36 60), but he lost to Flavio Cipolla in 2nd round after big fight(46 64 46)... Next week, he'll play in Geneve MD(without playing qualies!) and he'll play against first seed Paolo Lorenzi, again.. Can he do it twice in a row? :D

mad run. He's well inside the top 300 with that win, actually not far off 250. If he has maybe one more successful tourney in the next couple of months then he'll have a chance of AO qualifiers which would be great. That said, he's got some decent points to come off before the end of the season, so actually, he probably needs a couple of good (QF or higher) performances.

Great stuff though. Good luck tomorrow Nikola

Riba(1) d. Ciric 64 64 in semis...
Ciric/Olaru(3) d. Clar-Rossello/Santos 7-6(5) 3-6 10-6 and are in doubles final!

He will get in top 300 with this performance, but not in top 250 ;)
He should be around 254th position next week :D

Another great win for him today in the first round of the Ljubljana challenger - again, playing Lorenzi, top seed, in the first round, and again, coming through in straight sets. Decent draw as well, could well have a run here if he can keep it going :)

Ciric is in the quarter finals in Ljubljana, and has taken the first set 6/1 against Galvani. He's defending SF points this week as he made Palermo challenger semi final with the same drop date last season, but that was his major points to defend for the remainder of the season. Another good tournament after this one and he could be pushing on towards top 200.

Ah, he lost 63 62... But still, SF is fantastic result... I hope that he'll enter top 200 in this year :s

Nikola has just 14 points to defend till the end of the year, and looks as though he'll be playing in most of the South American challenger swing.

He's playing this week in Beunos Aires and has got off to another fantastic start beating 7th seed and another player ranked 100 places higher - Ramon Delgado 6-2, 6-3. That already gives him 8 points. He can guarantee making the 6 remaining points if he wins in the second round, probably tomorrow, and he's playing a wild card who got a walkover in Round 1, so it's an opportunity for him, for sure. Another win would also, for a couple of weeks at least, get him inside that top 250....

Well done Niko

His opponent is 18 years old and R1 was his first ever Challenger win... It shouldn't be a big problem for Ciric, Ajde Nikola!

#15 ·
With win against Velotti he will get into top 250, and will be better ranked than Haas and Hrbaty!

Ciric now through to quarters, 6-1, 7-6 against Velotti. It means he's pretty much guaranteed a season ending rank inside the top 250, as he can only lose 14 points off of his total between now and then. This tournament sees him win at least 18. Berlocq next, will be tough, but he's showing great form, with a few top 100 wins in recent weeks.
Probably now has a serious shot of the top 200 before year end, considering his form. He's entered into all the SA clay court challengers.

#18 ·
Maybe he should have tried his luck in some of indoor 250s...

#17 ·
61 76 against Velotti... Against Berlocq in QF, that'll be hard one :(

More points on the board last night for Nikola, comfortably putting away Martin Alun 6/4, 6/3 in Paraguay. Tough second round match against either Santiago Ventura, or Brian Dabul but each of these wins pushes him a little closer to the top 200. Another excellent serving display on the clay yesterday - 9 aces and only 2 break points faced. On the Alun serve, he had 12 break point opportunities over the course of the match, which took an hour 25. Well done Nikola.

Astonishing win. This is some run he's on. He'll face Galdon in the quarter finals, which is a match he definately has a chance of winning. Good news is, after the tough 2 hour battle with Dabul, he has another day off today, so good for recovery. 25 aces yesterday, which, on clay in a 3 set match is a hell of a feat. I'd like to see him on grass!!

Win yesterday takes him to a projected ranking of 236. A win against Galdon will see him up to 213. It's not impossible, in fact, for him to climb into the top 200 this week, although, he would probably need to win the event - a runner up spot would likely leave him 3 or 4 places short of the 200. There's another 6 weeks left of the South American clay court challenger swing, i'm guessing he'll play at least 4 of those events, and in this form, well, i'd say top 200 by the end of the season is the minimum he can manage.

Keep it going Niko.....:worship:

Iv´e seen him play 3 times, an tall player, who isn´t the fastest on court maybe that´s why he do his best results on clay. Plays an typical clay game, a lot of spin down the baselines and got an huge serve as his best weapon. Would be interesting to see him on an faster surface as carpet, hardcourt and grass next year. Some good results upcoming weeks will secure him an place at Grands slams quallies in AO,RG and wimbledon. Just keep on rocking :rocker:

Another win! 63 64 against Alund

He'll probably play against Riba(2) in semis :)
Ajde Nikola!

Not sure, he's not playing in Columbia the following week either, so maybe, he's cutting the swing short. There's a couple more events after then, and he has a couple of point slots to fill in his ranking points, so I hope that's not it for the season.

Back to last night, another great win as you say. Although these wins are becoming more 'routine' than great now. What a run he's on :)
