Yet again JCF could potentially play Tsonga/De Bakker in Round 3 of Rome. What's up with these draws?
R1 vs qualifier, R2 vs Andreas Beck/qualifier.

Anyway, imo it was a bad loss against De Bakker, not because of the opponent but more the manner of it. Especially after pulling out a tight 3d set win against Tsonga, one of the more clutch players on tour, its surprising that JC lost out in 2 tiebreaks against a pretty inexperienced, although clearly talented player. Hope the loss doesnt affect his confidence too much and he can go far in Roma. Forza JCF

Oh, poor Juanqui! I hope that Ferru wins in Barcelona. I hope that someone defeats Soderling. He is one guy I can't stand. He was so nasty to Rafa, making fun of him. I can't stand people like that.

He needed to make the SF to improve. For sure I thought he had chances to win this week but next week is more important for his ranking. Barca was optional but Rome will definitely count no matter what result he gets. So hopefully he's peaking at the right times.

Checked the scores when JC was a break up in 1st set, went skipping away for the rest of my day and have only just managed to check final scores.

Booo hooo hoooo.

He had 10 break points and only converted 3? Arrrgggh. I noticed De Bakker had a few aces so am assuming he pulled them out at the right moments?

Shame. Seems he didn't lift his game but he can't win 'em all. I guess it's just a shame due to the withdrawals in the tournie that he had a chance to progress a bit further ...

Please let Rome be his tournie

6-7(2) 6-3 6-7(4)

Playing a crap opponent on a crap court can always bring out the worst in you. Shame it had to be this way but I don't think it will knock his confidence too much.

Re: Juan Carlos Back on Spanish Soil: Barcelona 2010 Thread

Bad day for Spain it seems.
Only Ferru won, and that was against Bolelli who retired.
JC, Almagro, GGL and Navarro all lost. Nando is playing Melzer right now and Feli will be playing later I guess, against Soderling.

Well, I try to stay optimistic.
He is still having a great year! Barcelona is less important than coming Masters and RG.

JC won four more points than De Bakker in the whole match (one more in the third set)...

O well, Rome is calling!
