Re: Your Favourite Shot?

low forehand topspin approach shot that just rainbows over the net and into a corner. My favorite to hit at least and they look pretty cool

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

I really cant decide. My game is very mixed up, for rallies i hot double handed off both sides most of the time, though i often mix it up with one handed backhands and punch forehands. I used to be a baseliner but now i come to the net very often aswell, mostly on the back of low angled one handed forehands. If i had to choose, i suppose my double handed forehand because sometimes i can just pick out angles from nothing and land it straight on the line.

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

My favorite constructed point is to basically camp out on the ad side of the court and hit deep forehands to the opponent's backhand...and if they hit it short, I can either hit it harder to the backhand side, hit a hard down the line shot, or drop shot them.

But my favorite shot is my forehand...my backhand is more consistent, but I get more power on the forehand and dictate better with it. I like to drop shot a lot (almost too much) and then lob them. I'm very much the type that likes to mix things up a ton and toy with an opponent, even if I get obliterated doing so

Also my best shot , since the first game I played I made those shots easily for some reason

Thanks, Tidus...but I'm no pro. More like a little ole lady who's been playing awhile.

"Constructing" points in doubles is a lot harder since there are twice as many people on court, points are usually much shorter and there's a lot of reaction/defense going on. You can try to practice standard strategies/patterns (i.e. pulling both opponents in...if they're not there already...then going up the middle or over their heads). Even though they're "known" by both sides of the net...they often "work". And it's the experienced player(s) who defend it well or don't allow themselves to get in those positions for their opponents to perpetrate them.

But in my last two (doubles) matches, I've pulled off my favorite "constructed" point.

Serving from the deuce side. Get a medium pace return to my alley that I then lob over the net player in their ad side to force the receiver to cover. Weak lob return.

BOOM. Overhead winner from me angled behind the net person (now on the deuce side and still wondering what's happening).

Mayhap a bit cheesy with the lob thing...but effective as hell (at the Club level ).

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

Probably my forehand in general. I can do anything I want with it. Short angled shots, heavy deep balls, crosscourt, down the line, running pass, its a really crazy shot.

If only my backhand measured up

Re: Your Favourite Shot?

I have a killer backhand down the line.

My have a really easy time playing against pushers, serve & volleyers (although they are rare) and hard hitter. I have some serious problems against players who hit with heavy deep topspin shots and are consistent off both wings. My forehand seems to break down versus them.

Running forehand crosscourt pass

My forehand is a very ugly shot though, I suppose my backhand down the line is my best looking shot.

Yeah, the pros make it look so easy to hit that whipping running forehand pass.

When I try it I'm thinking Federer...Sampras...whip it down the line with plenty of curve to bring it in at the last minute right into the corner......then.....my moment of glory comes.....shank!!
